Chapter 36

When Todoroki pulls back after a few seconds, Aimi looks up at him, shocked and with a red face.

"I'm sorry. Was that... okay", Todoroki asks her as he looks down at her with an embarrassed expression on his face.

"It was more than okay", she answers, a bright smile spreading on her face as she looks up at him. At that, Todoroki can't help but smile, too.

"Then... can I kiss you again", he questions, his voice low, as he wraps an arm around her and places his hand on her lower back. Aimi nods in response, a nervous yet happy chuckle escaping her.

Todoroki leans down to kiss her again, gently, as he presses her towards him with the hand on her back. Aimi rests her hands on his chest in return, gripping the material of his bathrobe lightly as she leans into him. Were it not for the slight tremble of his hand against her back, Aimi wouldn't have believed him to be as nervous as her. So she can't help but smile against his lips, relief and amusement filling her.

When they break apart for the second time, the both of them just look at each other in comfortable silence. Todoroki is the first to break it, a blush spreading on his cheeks as his eyes drop to their feet.

"I'm not good at being open about... my emotions", he starts with a clear of his throat, "But I really... I like you." Todoroki looks at her again, nervous, since he's never been this sincere about how he felt before.

Aimi feels her heart leap in her chest as she listens to him quietly admit his feelings, not once looking away from him. "I like you, too", she whispers back, a wide grin on her face.

Todoroki matches hers, and it's a sight Aimi likes getting used to.

Suddenly, an alarm rings, and Aimi breaks away from him in surprise, looking around the room.

"I'm sorry, that's the alarm I set", Todoroki explains as he walks over towards the bed and picks up his phone to turn it off. "We should get ready. There's only twenty minutes left until we have to leave."

Aimi watches Todoroki's back as he taps something on his phone, agreeing with him. "Okay, I'll leave then", she tells him, the same smile still on her face as he turns back around.

"I'll come get you when I'm ready", he tells Aimi as he leads her to the door, opening it for her. She nods, and Todoroki looks after her as she walks over to her room, having a happy smile on his face for the first time in a while.

This one's a little shorter since I don't have much time these days to write :)
