Chapter 14

When she wakes up, Aimi realizes that she's in Recovery Girl's office. At first, she doesn't remember why she ended up there. Then the girl's memories fall back in place and she frantically looks around for the elderly woman.

"Oh, you're up", Aimi hears from the door and turns around.

"Where's my dad? Is he okay", she asks Recovery Girl who enters the room. She pulls a grimace before taking a seat next to Aimi.

"He's in the hospital. Your father suffered bad injuries, but he's going to be alright in a few weeks." At that, Aimi lets out a relieved sigh and lays back on the bed.

"And now about you", Recovery Girl starts." You got yourself a minor head-injury from hitting the floor after you passed out, but overall everything's fine. What you did back there was very risky young girl. You could've really overexerted yourself. Don't push yourself too far."

Aimi grimaces slightly. "I know that, but I had to help. And before you say anything, I know that All Might is the number 1 pro hero and he could've beat that thing. But you know just as well as I do, that everyone has a limit. And he'd almost reached his."

Recovery Girl frowns at the young girl lying before her. "And you reached yours. I know you wanted to be honorable, but don't be hasty and think before you act."

The girl sits up abruptly and swings her legs to one side. "You know just as well as I do, that I never stop thinking about doing literally anything. If I hadn't acted, I would've beaten myself up about it for years. Can I go now", she asks irritated.

The older woman sighs and nods her head, knowing the girl reached her limit.

Aimi grabs her bag and hurries out the door. She would've immediately run to the hospital, had she not still been in her hero suit or at school. That's why she swiftly changes into her uniform in the changing room before going to her classroom. There, only a few students occupy the room.

When they notice the blonde standing in the door, they stand up and hurry over towards her.

"Are you okay Aimi-chan? We were so worried", Mina starts talking.

"You were so manly Aimi-san! How'd you do that", Kirishima exclaims.

"Tch, if she hadn't done it first, I would've flung that thing through the windows", Bakugo grumbles.

At the students flocking around her, Aimi grows a little uncomfortable, especially, because they keep complimenting her. She tries her best to answer everyone, but freezes when Kirishima asks a question she hoped she could avoid.

"Aimi-san, why were you so worried about Aizawa-sensei? 'Cause you were the most distressed out of all of us."

For a moment, Aimi wishes she could just make up a lie and keep them oblivious, but she knows she won't be able to keep it up for much longer.

"He's my dad, that's why", Aimi admits to her classmates who look at her in shock. For a second, the girl can't help but worry. Are they going to hate her for keeping this from them? Will they stop talking to her, because they think she's getting privilege?

"Honestly, we should've guessed that", Mina says, holding a finger to her mouth.

"Yeah. I mean, the way she intimidated Mineta the other day...It was in front of us the entire time", Kaminari voices, laughing.

"Well it doesn't surprise me that Dunce face didn't see it", Bakugo provokes.

At that comment, Kaminari gasps insulted and Aimi hits Bakugo in the back of his head.

"Hey, what was that for witch", Bakugo shouts while holding a hand to his head, although it barely hurt.

"Don't insult him idiot", the girl counters. While she's annoyed at Bakugo's insult, Aimi feels relieved, knowing that they don't hate her. Well, at least these few don't.

They ask her questions like, what it's like living with their teacher, if he's always as moody as he is with them and if Aimi could make him give them good marks on their tests.

"Hey, um, I was just wondering, is everyone okay? No one's badly hurt, right?"

"No. Some got a few scratches or minor injuries, but nothing bad. Except for Aizawa", Sero informs her.

Aimi thanks them and bids them goodbye to go see her dad. She's glad that they have the day and the next two off. That way, she'll be able to spend time with her father.
