chapter 20: Waiting for Robin

Maxs pov:

Me and El were sitting on Robins bed talking when we heard Steve yell "I have to go to work kids! Robin should be home soon" then the door opened and Steve left.

*30 minutes later*

We heard someone knock on the door. I looked at the time, it's 12pm. I go see who's at the door its Nancy I go back to tell el "hey baby, Nancy's here" I tell El. "Don't leave mee" she says as I start to walk back out of the room.

"Fine come here" I reply walking over to El, she jumped into my arms and wraps her arms and legs around me. I wrap my arms around her lower back.

As I walk over to the front door I hear another knock, I open the door "hey Nance" I say "hey max, wait Max?!" Nancy starts "Where's Robin? Also why are you here?" She finishes her sentence. "I don't know where Robin is, and El and I stayed over last night. Why do you need Robin?" I answered and asked "she called me last night bawling her eyes out. I wasn't able to come so I rushed over as soon as I could." She explained.

El turned around "Robin called us too. We came over right away." El said she then tried to remember if Robin said she couldn't tell Nancy.

Nancys pov:

I was looking at el and it looked like she was tearing up, "hey el, can I talk with you alone?" I asked "sure" El said faking a happy tone. Max set her down and el stepped outside with me, we closed the door, and walked a bit away from the door "are you ok? I asked el worries "y-yea why?" She asked trying not to cry.

"You look like your about to cry and just now you stuttered in the same voice you have when your trying not to cry." I explained "oh uhm. Yea I'm okay, just worried about Robin" El replied "okayyy...." I said opening my arms out for a hug. She jumped into me and gave me a huge hug.

I hugged her back "you sure your ok?" I asked one more time, I instantly regretted it once she started bawling. I hugged her even tighter. She looked up "I'm really worried about Robin Nancy...." She said "I know... I'll wait with yall till she comes back" I said trying to make her feel better "okay.." El replied.

Els pov:

We went inside and sat on the couch max found a tape/movie disk and put it on the TV. I was laying my head on Max's lap and had my legs curled upto my chest. "So how's you and Robin's relationship?" Max asked Nancy randomly "pretty good. We definitely haven't gotten as far as you two but I definitely love her." Nancy replied to Max.

*an hour later*

The movie was almost over when we heard someone walk in, we all jumped up and looked at the door it was Robin. I jumped over the couch, ran to her and gave her a big hug "where the hell have you been" I asked starting to cry "hey el, I was just at my friends house, I lost track of time." Robin replied.

Robin's pov:

I looked down at el and she looked up at me, she had her arms wrapped around me tightly. She gave me a look and I knew what that look meant she was asking me a question "no I didn't" I whispered quietly. She nodded and hugged me again I hugged back.
I could tell I worried her and I felt bad. Max and Nancy were just looking at us.

We pulled away and Nancy come over to me and kissed me, it was unexpected but I loved it I kissed back and wrapped my arms around her waist "never do that to el again" she whispered against my lips before she pulled away. Max came over to me and gave me a hug "you too red?!" I asked laughing "you were gone for hours! Steve left for work almost 2 hours ago and said you would be back soon, but guess what? You weren't!" Max replied. I could tell she was upset.

"I'm sorry guys I was hanging out with a friend at the park and I lost track of time." I said to everyone honestly. I felt bad now and couldn't say what I was actually doing.
