Cassidy's POV
I was continuing to walk home, minding my own business, when a car pulled up beside me. I quickened my pace, scared of being kidnapped. The driver rolled down the window, and I began to run as fast as my long legs would allow.
"Cassidy, slow down! God, I'm not gonna kidnap you!" I hear the driver yell from behind me. I turned to see Ross in the drivers seat of the car.
"What do you want, Ross?" I ask, relieved that it wasn't some psycho serial killer.
"If you didn't notice, its getting ready to rain. Need a ride home?" He asks as he smiles at me.
"No, I'm fine. You don't need to go out of your way for me." I say as an excuse, really more concerned that he would figure out who I was.
"Please, Cassidy? Please let me give you a ride home?" Ross asks, giving me his puppy dog face.
Resist it, Cassidy. You can resist it.
"Fine, but just this once." I say as I walk towards his car. I climb in the passenger side and buckle my seat belt.
"Where do you live? I just moved to a different part of town, so I know my way around better now." He says as he grins at me.
"I'll just give you directions." I say to him.
We're silent the whole time, except for me telling him where to turn every so often. We finally arrive at my house, and he pulls in the driveway.
"Thanks, Ross." I say as I begin to get out of the car.
"No problem. But, there is a price for you to pay." He says as he grins evilly at me.
"And what is that?" I ask him as I grin back.
"Your phone number." He says.
"Fine." I say as I dig my wallet/phone case out of my purse.
I finally find it, and I open it. But, my picture of me and Ross when we were 4 years old falls out. He sees it fall, and quickly catches it. He looks at it for a second, before looking at me.
"Why do you have a picture of me and my ex best friend, Cassie?" He says, using my nickname.
"Come inside and see for yourself." I say to him as I walk towards my house. I hear him get out of the car and follow behind me.
I walk in the door, to see Ashton sitting on his phone.
"Hey Ash." I say as I walk into the living room. I continue up the stairs before walking up them. I hear Ross behind me, and I walk up the steps. I get upstairs, and I see Auden and Elle in the game room.
"Hey Auden, Elle." I say as I sit down next to them.
"You! You're my ex best friend! Oh my god, I hate you!" Ross says as he realizes who I am.
"Hi to you too, Ross." Auden says, knowing who it is without even turning around.
"At least I still care about you." I snarl at him.
"This seems like a private conversation, so me and Elle are leaving." Auden says as she grabs Elle and walks out.
"Who says I didn't care? You were clingy and wouldn't stop crying when I told you we were moving! I was an eleven year old boy, I couldn't handle eleven year old girl hormones!" Ross snaps.
"Quit lying to yourself, Ross. I was your best friend for your whole life, you had handled me in worse times than that. Something was going on Ross, and I know it. Back then, I was able to read you like an open book." I say to him in a diva tone. He made me flip my bitch switch.
"Yeah, something was up with me back then, something that I didn't realize was actually why I hated you so much until I was 13. When I was 13, I finally knew why..." He says, trailing off.
"And what was that, Ross? Please tell us your pathetic sob story." I say angrily.
"I was in love with you, Cassidy!" And then, I felt his lips on mine. I melted into the kiss, running my hands through his hair. We were kissing for a while, until someone walked in.
"Holy crap."
