Eda's head was on swivel as she took in the sites of Dubai until they got to the desert area. Even then she marveled at the scenery and watched the heat haze with an artist's eye. It was funny, Mira always asked her if she was sure if she wanted to be a model since she was such a gifted artist. Eda's answer was always the same, 'if I don't try it I'll never know, I don't ever want to have a what if, what if I could have been this or that' and so she had been working her way up the ladder getting bigger and better contracts. Eda would always have art, she would never give that up and she would eventually focus her energy on it but for now her attention was on her modeling career. Modeling or not the artists eye never went away so the view and effects were captured and stored.
It took them almost three hours to get to their destination. A rather funky place almost like something from outer space with the sand and the cabins until you saw the manmade oasis in the distance. It was the most bizarre thing, how they managed to get it to survive was beyond her but she was glad that they would have some greenery and water. Eda worked with the team to help unload the vehicles and get everything stored in one of the buildings and then checked into her own lodgings before heading back to the area that Ari had designated for makeup.
He had her sitting in the chair for an hour before turning her over to Dal.
"For once someone who has real breasts and not those silicone things, you really are a natural girl aren't you?" Dal mused.
Eda laughed, "That's me, all natural. Ari even asked about me eyelashes when we first were on the plane. He thought that they were fake but nope all me."
Dal gripped Eda by the chin so she could look at her makeup free face, "Where did they find you honey?"
Eda assumed that it was a rhetorical question so she made no comment. She wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. Dal gave her an armful of garments to try on and the show began.
She came out in each piece, Dal and Yasi made notes and swapped out accessories or changed pinned the garment tighter and made notes. Eda remembered when her mother used her as a human mannequin years earlier, it almost made her tear up. She had a small smile on her face.
Dal noted it, "What has you smiling honey?"
"Nothing really, just a memory. My mother was a costumer for one of the production companies, she used to make me try on garments for her. This reminded me of that."
"How long has she been gone," Dal knew by the way that Eda talked about her mother that she had passed away.
"Four years, it's been a long four years," Eda sighed.
"I know a lot of those ladies, who was your mother?"
Eda smiled at Dal's kindness, she was sure that she didn't know her mother but was trying to make her feel better, "Maya Yildiz."
Dal stood there looking at her slightly stunned, "You're little Eda? I remember when she used to bring you and your sister to the studio. Mira? I'm so sorry honey, I heard about the accident and then about your dad," she pulled Eda into a hug. "You probably don't remember me, I had black hair then always in a bun and was about fifty pounds heavier."
Eda pushed back, "I do remember you, but you look so different, you look younger," Eda hugged her again. "This is wonderful to see you again. You left the studios to come do this?"
"I did, my husband and I divorced so I lost the extra weight that I had gained due to stress and cut and colored my hair and never looked back. I think being happier has made me look younger, that and a good skincare regimen and a little botox and filler now and then. I can't believe that little Eda is all grown up and Mira, what is she doing?"
