They were driving home from the law offices when Serkan pulled off to the side of the road and jumped out with his camera. Eda had no idea what he saw but she rolled down the window of the car and waited. He came back about twenty minutes later, Eda was resting on her arms in the open window.
Serkan strolled up to the window, "Hey baby, you here all by yourself?"
She winked at him, "No, my ridiculously hot and talented boyfriend is around here somewhere but I can mess around with you for a bit if you like."
He chuckled at her sass, "I do love you Eda Yildiz," and bent to kiss her smiling lips.
"What did you see that you wanted to photograph?"
"I'll show you at home, we have one more stop to make," Serkan got back behind the wheel and stowed his camera in it's bag. When they pulled into the shopping center Eda's palms got a little sweaty, not from nervousness but from excitement. They were really going to look at rings. Not to buy, just to look. Eda almost pinched herself.
Serkan came around and opened her door, "The owner of the jewelry store is a close friend of my mother's. She'll hear all about it but it won't be a surprise. I've never brought anyone home to meet her before so she knew we were serious."
He led her to a very exclusive shop, Eda almost wished that she had dressed better until the owner came out and saw Serkan. The man wrapped him in a bear hug before bestowing the same treatment on Eda.
"Sergy, you look well."
"Serkan you young pup, what can I do for you today or can I guess since you've brought a young lady? Does Aydan know?" Sergy asked slyly.
"Yes, Eda has met my mother. We had dinner there the other night. Eda and I would like to look at engagement rings. I want to know what style she likes before buying it unless she falls in love with something today."
Sergy took Eda's hands in his inspecting them, "She can wear any style with these beautiful hands. Come into the back room and let me bring in some different styles." He led them through to a separate room that Eda thought was a mirror. The door slid back to reveal plush sofas and mirrored display tables.
Unlocking several panels Sergy brought out trays of rings for Eda and Serkan to look at. Eda gravitated toward the colored stones, her hand passing over a style called Toi et Moi. "Serkan, I think that I like this but I like the colored stones."
Unphased Sergy pulled some packets of loose stones and an empty setting, they went through the different stones but Eda loved the combination of their birthstones, the greens were beautiful together. The darker green of the emerald for May with the brighter green of the Sardonyx for August.
Eda carefully held her hand for Serkan to see, "What do you think?"
He didn't need to give his opinion, her shining eyes already told him what he needed to know, "Very unique. Like you, like us."
She smiled at Sergy, "If we do a ring for me we have to do one for Serkan. Can we see them too?"
Sergy liked the enthusiasm of Serkan's future wife, "Let me bring in an assortment, I'll be right back."
Eda was still looking at the ring, she thought that the stones might be a bit large but Serkan didn't have any concerns. She looked up to see him watching her, "What are you looking at baby?"
"You, as sparkly as those stones are they can't compare to you."
She scooted over next to him and said softly into his ear, "It is a darn shame that there are cameras in here because when you say sweet things like that I want to . . . . . "
