Mature between the ****

Eda threw a large drop cloth on the floor before setting up her easel in the spare room upstairs. This room had lovely light and it had something her studio didn't have, it had a view. This birds-eye view of the sea and city with the sun and shadows dancing on the buildings screamed to be painted. She looked at the time, six hours before she had to get ready for dinner. Eda put on her headphones and tuned into her Spotify playlist and started to work.
It was quiet when Serkan came home, his calls to Eda went unanswered. Had she gone out? He saw her purse hanging off the back of a chair in the kitchen as he went to grab a glass of water so she had to be around here somewhere. He dropped his folder on the desk and made his way upstairs, the sight that greeted him made him fall in love all over again. Eda's hair was in a messy bun on top of her head, curls escaping, she was barefoot wearing baggy overalls and a white singlet. He went back downstairs to grab his camera and started to snap away as she painted.
Out of the corner of her eye Eda saw that Serkan was in the room, she turned to smile at him. It was at that moment that he caught her in the frame, the smile that said it all. Eda was at home here with him and if she hadn't told him already her look told him of her love for him. Serkan put the camera down and walked over to kiss her hello.
Eda's lips were glistening from their kiss as he pulled back, "Do you like the space?"
She leaned forward on her tip toes to kiss him again her hands away from her sides, "I do like it very much. I've never had a view to paint before from a studio and the light is so good. Thank you. How did your meeting go?"
"Good, Zuri liked the work. He said I have to have a lot more and I can't just have the painting pieces but he loved those and wants more. I showed him the inspiration piece and he actually gave me an idea of how I want to set the book up."
"I knew it. I just knew that he would like it. Your work is too good to be dismissed. So is he going to give you time to work on it?"
She watched as his face fell a bit, "I'm off to Bodrum on Friday, not sure how long yet he's emailing me the details. I told him to schedule in that break. I don't think he gets it though, he thinks that I can do both."
"Can you change agents if he doesn't give you the time you need?"
"I could but for all his faults Zuri is good at his job. I just need to give him the dates where I won't work and stick to it. If you're set here I'm going to go back out scouting. We have to be at my mother's by six so I'll be back in plenty of time."
Eda was cleaning her brushes when Serkan came back around four. He sat down to transfer the memory card to his laptop when he heard the shower start upstairs. Serkan pushed away from his desk, he needed to shower too, why not conserve water and shower together. Eda wondered how long it would take him to get upstairs once the water went on, she should have timed him. She had just started washing when Serkan took the loofah from her to help. They might not have conserved any water but they were both clean, happy and relaxed when they were done.
She had several outfit laying on the bed trying to decide what to wear, "Which one Serkan?"
"I like the one you have on now," he winked at her.
"Be serious, I'm nervous and you aren't helping."
He stood behind her, chin on her shoulder and looked at the outfits, "Go with the blue dress, it's my mother's favorite color," he dropped a kiss on her shoulder before moving off to finish getting dressed.
