When the nurses came out or Serkan's room Aydan went back in to say her goodnights. Since Serkan was getting settled Eda decided to walk Aydan to the waiting car. As soon as they made it through the doors flashbulbs went off and microphones were stuck in their faces. Questions were hurled at Eda.
"We hear your fiancé is in ICU?"
"We hear Serkan Bolat has brain damage."
"Is it true that you're having an affair with Baris and that they got into a fight?"
"What's the status of his relationship with Selin, is she coming to see him?"
"Is it true that you've had an ongoing affair with Kaan Karadag?"
"We heard that you are trying to break up Serkan and Selin!"
"Is Serkan Bolat dead?"
"Is it true that you were arrested for working as an escort in Budapest?"
On and on the questions went, Eda got Aydan into the car promising to let her know how everything was going before turning to go back to the hospital. She didn't know why her life or Serkan's was any business of theirs. Eda just shook her head and turned back into the hospital not answering any questions other than saying, 'Thank you for your concern have a good evening.' They weren't concerned and she could care less if they had a good evening. They were just looking for made up stories trying to create trouble. Why were they even news in Azerbaijan?
Eda's mind was somewhere else when she got back to Serkan's room. She tried to shake off the unpleasant encounter but couldn't. Eda didn't want to talk to Serkan about it because he had enough to be concerned with.
She wasn't sure how he had done it but he had talked then into removing some of the bandaging from around his head too so now he only had a headband of gauze. Serkan appeared more alert, hopefully the anesthesia was almost all the way through his system. Eda tried her hardest to only focus on Serkan and his care. When they came in to get him up to walk late that night they were both relieved that he was steady and had no balance issues.
Serkan almost felt human again, he could go to the bathroom by himself once again and he could walk though Eda insisted on hanging onto him for the time being. Serkan was fine with that arrangement, anything to keep her close. She slept in his arms that night but he could tell she wasn't really sleeping and he didn't know why. After breakfast the next morning Kemal and Serhat came to visit. Serkan assured them that he was on the mend and that they should go home to their families. Neither man mentioned anything to Serkan about the paparazzi since they weren't looking to talk to them. They didn't associate them with Serkan and Eda.
The doctor agreed that Serkan could be discharged and go home later that afternoon. All the paperwork was provided so that he could follow-up with his personal physician in Istanbul. Eda arranged for them to leave through a side exit rather than the front door. If Serkan found it odd he didn't mention it. Aydan understood though, she had heard the questions.
Eda wouldn't let Serkan lift or carry anything, she and Aydan took care of all the luggage and camera equipment. With instructions not to pout he reclined in the passenger seat and did as he was told. Eda drove them home in silence with Spotify playing softly in the background. They were both looking forward to being home.
Serkan headed to the shower to remove the remaining betadine from his hair and wash the hospital smell from him. It was funny he thought, he was home the same day that he was supposed to be but things were so much different. Eda hadn't joined him in the shower and he was a bit surprised, he thought that she would. When Serkan got out he tossed on his robe and went to find her.
