Luck is often credited with causing the consistent pattern of unusual success experienced by some people. Defined by the unlucky as random and unfair, luck often inexplicably follows people who make a practice of being observant and prepared.
Luck is merely one extreme of a spectrum that has deliberate effort with foreseeable outcome on the other extreme.
Quoted by a Harvard research report, "When you make good karma, most of the time you don't get the karmic payoff straight away. It goes in the bank for when you most need it. And sometimes the universe just helps you out, because you are channeling your energies to serve it, and it wants you to know you are on the right path, and to help you on your way. These two forces, working together, can sometimes manifest as miraculous good luck."
Unsure of how much good energy he has served in, Yeonjun felt himself luckier than usual. Of course anyone would if a medical personnel comes up to you to inform that you're dying patient is recovering better.
"Mr. Choi," The nurse from that first day when Yeonjun had been admitted, walked upto him to,"patient no. 621 has woken up from his coma. Would you pay him a visit? I know it's not the visiting hours but since the case is sincere, we can give you a pass."
Yeonjun was enthralled at the news. His small eyes grew to their largest diameter, clenching the hands of the old nurse, thanking her over and over. He held is excitement on a single strand of thread as the nurse smiled and walked him to the room. Silently sneaking him in, she instructed him to be quick. Eunseok's lay on the bed the same way as before.
"Eunseok..." Yeonjun lost the words in his mouth as he saw his bestfriend staring at the light above on the ceiling. He had noticed Yeonjun approaching from the reflection on the glass window besides which, his bed was kept a little higher than other beds, to support his devasted body.
"Hi..." Eunseok spoke with a heavy sigh.
Yeonjun's body crumbled and hunched on his feet. He suppressed a much needed cry, sniffing around. There was hope. Yes. There still remained hope.
"How are you?"
Why are you blabbering! The voice in Yeonjun's mind yelled at him.
"I'm... Better."
"My brother has been kidnapped. I don't have much time to slowly drop you the bomb, bear with me."
"You... You already dropped... It."
"Sorry. Your sister is with me. I'm sorry, I had misbehaved with her."
"It's okay. What... Do you want me to... Tell you?"
