Conduct Me (Lydia Tár X Reader)

"This isn't what i asked for"

Lydia looks at the present orchestra members, they all looked confused to what lydia is requesting, i could tell she was flustered by the miscommunication between her and the orchestra members

"versteht ihr englisch?"
(do you guys understand english?)

She put her baton down on the podium and looked at them with both her arms stretched out and placed on both sides of the podium, head down she inhaled deeply, followed by a irritated sigh

"Okay, das war es für heute"
(Okay, thats it for today)

She liberated us all, everyone got up, putting their instruments away into their cases, i got up looking for my case feeling agitated, i picked it up and placed my violin in the case gently, she caught my glance and waved me over, i felt nervous and a mess all at once

"Yes maestro?"

I asked her, edginess filling my tone, she took a sip from the plastic cup she had Francesca bring over, i flashed Francesca a pleasant smile, which she returned

"Did you check out the piece i emailed over to you?"

She handed the cup back to francesca which got me distracted,  i was to busy focusing on the cup lydia was holding, that her question almost went unnoticed, she was now looking at me, i quickly shook my head, snapping myself back to reality

"Uh yes, i checked it out"

I assured her, she nodded and put her hair back in a pony tail revealing her beautifully defined jaw and her sharp cheek bones

"Alright then, il send you another peice later today, go over it and we'll arrange something"

She was busy putting on her black coat while discussing the details with me, i just obliged then quickly moved out of her way, she gave me a soft shallow smile

"Tschüss, bis morgen Punkt 17, Uhr!"
(Bye, see you all tomorrow 5 pm, sharp!)

Everyone looked at her giving her a plethora of smiles, some people waved goodbye, wich she did not acknowledge, but she nodded at all of them and left the orchestra pit, i followed her out unintentionally, there was no possibility of avoiding her since the concert hall had one exit.

It was silent, just Lydias foot steps echoing in the distance, i decided to just go for it and started sprinting down the stairs, i watched the exit door slowly  shut right after her, intending that someone had just walked out, i took my time, and just a few moments later i had finally exited the building, i inhaled a deep breath and exhaled smoke due to the weather.

I began walking towards the crosswalk to cross the road since my car was parked on the other side, i waited until the coast was clear before I crossed, and just when i was finally on the other side of the road and was walking upwards towards my car,  i Spotted Lydias car from the corner of my eye going over a speed bump they had arranged right before the crosswalk to slow cars down, i kept my head straight and finally made it to my car, i got in placing my bag next to me and my violin behind the passenger seat on the floor
