"Ok let me get this straight," I started. "You're an actor who stared in movies such as 'Figure of a Stranger' and 'Loyal for Eternity'?!"
"Yes, plus many more" Dean's words smoothly flow out of his mouth. I stared at him my mouth slightly agape. "I know it's hard to believe." His hand made its way to the back of his neck, rubbing it slightly. "But it's true," he said with a smile. I turned my head to the sound if the bell above the door, people were leaving. "I guess the storms over," I stated looking back at Dean. "Yea..." He muttered his smile fading. "So...can I get your number? F-for catching up I mean" My eyes widen a bit.
'He wants my number?!'
"Uhh sure." He hands me his phone. 'It's already opened' I took a moment trying to remember my phone number, after a few seconds it came to me and I put it in. "Thanks!" Dean smiles at me. "Welp, see you around Issac!" He started towards the door. As he reached it he turned his head and looked back at me and waves. Opening the door he walked out and just like that, he was gone. The butterflies in my stomach had finally started to calm down. Looking down at the book I had picked up a while ago I made my way over to the counter, handing it to the employee. She took it from me smiling brightly. She scans it and asks me "Will that be all sir?" I nod as I took out my wallet. "Alright, your total is $10.51," I pull out a 10 and 5 dollar bill and hand them to her. "Keep the change." The employee puts the book in a brown paper bag, picks up the receipt and puts it in the bag as well. She hands me the bag, "Have a good day!" She exclaims with a smile on her face. I smile softly, "Yea, you too." I take the paper bag containing my book and walk out the door.
As I walk out the door I look up at the sky, seeing the sun starting to show through the thick clouds. I take in the warmth. It felt nice compared to the cold and strong winds of the storm, that the town was experiencing not very long ago. I begin to walk down the sidewalk and towards my apartment building, when I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pull my phone out and press the power button. My phone's screen lights up, showing my lock screen. A picture of my cats, that is waiting for me back at home. I look at the notifications and see that Dean had texted me.
'Already?'
I double tap on the notification, opening the text. The text reads "Hey Issac, it's Dean. Thanks for giving me your phone number." I smile softly and slowly type out my response. "Hi! You're very welcome, it was kinda awkward becau-" I stop typing.
'No, no, don't say that.'
I hold the backspace button until it just says, "Hi! You're very welcome." I think for a moment. Then hit the send button. I slide my phone back into the pocket of my jeans and continue walking. After a few minutes I get back to my apartment and pull my keys out of my other pocket. I sick my house keys into the door knob and unlock the door.
I push the door open, and I am greeted by my fluffy black and white cats. Yin and Yang, I had named them after- well it's obvious. I smile when I see them running to me, meowing. I close the door.
"Hey babies" I walk over to the couch and sit down. Yin and Yang run over and jump up onto the couch and snuggle up with me. I pick up the remote and turn on the television.
When I open Netflix, Yin starts rubbing his face on my hand. Causing me to drop the remote. Chuckling, I pick the remote back up and play 'Spirit'. Yin and Yang get up off the couch and walk over to the TV and lay down on the carpet in front of it. I stand back up and walks into the kitchen, I pull a can of chips from the cabinet and walk back into the living room. I sit back down and munch on my chips.
