chapter 9

CHAPTER NINE.

THE TRAUMATIZED TEENSwaited in the ambulance, crowded by citizens, reporters, and cops. Tears flew down all the girls' faces as Sam stood to the side, smoking a cigarette. Aria noticed the ghostly conversation between Sam and her new boyfriend, and decided to ignore it.

She sniffled and wiped her tears, as she witnessed Ethan crossing the tape and walking towards them. He acted oblivious to the scene in front of him.

"Ethan.." Aria mumbled, causing Chad to turn his head and sprint to the boy defensively.

He gripped him by his shirt, and pinned him to a van. "Where were you!?" Chad growled.

"What? When!?" Ethan groaned.

"Last night! Where were you?"

"I-i had econ! You know this!"

"Bullshit man! You disappear and my sister and my friends almost get killed."

"Dude, I was in a stufy hall with 100 other people! You can asks any of them!"

Chad released the boys' shirt, as he wandered towards the girls. He noticed the two bodybags in the alley, "Oh my god." He said, "Who?"

"Anika." Chad sharply said, "And Quinn."

Ethans eyes grew darker, as he stepped towards the girls.

"Oh my god Mindy, I'm so sorry-" He tries to say, before the greiving girl stops him.

"Step the fuck back." She spews. The broken girl looks at her friend Aria hurtfully, before saying "you're on the top of my suspect list, Landry."

Ethan hurtfully gazed at his girlfriend. He prayed his suspicion wouldn't effect their relationship. "Ari, I'm really sorry." He says, looking into her teary eyes, then down at the sharp wound on her stomach.

The young and broken girl looks down at the ground. Shes broken with the thought that she didn't see Anikas final moments, or hear her final words, her friend was gone. Little did she know what else she would lose from this massacre.

A few hours pass, and Aria is checking out of the hospital with Ethan. She put on a baggu dark blue sweater that basically swallowed her whole.

"Hey," She hears the sweet innocent voice of her boyfriend. She turns her head, she feels comforted at the sight of the boy who she prayed would never hurt her.

The young buy walked over to her, he gazed into her eyes as she did the saem for a few seconds. He towered over her, and went in to hug her tightly. His hands wrapped around her waist. "I'm so glad you're okay." And he meant it.

Aria bit the inside of her cheek, as she muttered "I'm glad you are too." She breathed him in, and their hug tightened.

"I know you don't trust me right now, but-"

"No!" She interuppts. "No Ethan, it's not that."

"It's just you've been avoiding me, and I get it! I just,"

"Ethan." Aria pleads. "Its not you." The air around the two teens shifts to a dark atmosphere. "I've been avoiding everyone. I just.." The girl bites her bottom lip slightly, as her tears begin falling down her face again.

"Hey," Her boyfriend says, and grabs her hand. "You're safe now. I'm gonna protect you. Always." His broken lies caused an eerie shift in his tone, but made Aria feel safer. She looks up at him, smiling. The sight of her happiness made it impossible for Ethan not to smile back.

"I love you." She said, to which Ethan replied,

"Oh, yeah?" And picked her up, holding her by her side.

"Oh my gosh!!" She giggled and laughed as her boyfriend carried her out of the hospital.

"Put me down!" She chanted through her laughs.

Once they were outside, Ethan placed her down and kissed her as her back was pressed against a wall.

Aria lightly placed her hand on his chest, as he continues pursuing her lips. Both their hands fall down, and lock with each others.
