CHAPTER SIXTEEN.

THE TEENS HUDDLED TOGETHER in Kirby's van, tracking Sam's phone. Aria munched on her chips that she shared with Ethan, while Kirby was chatting with Sam who was outside at the park.

"So, we're using Sam as bait?" Aria asked snarkily. Kirby turned to her and said, "Technically yes. We're using her to track the killer's whereabouts."

"And, we'll do that using the phone tracking thing that never works in the movies?" Mindy asks, turning her head. "2 more minutes Sam! We've almost got him! Then Bam. He hangs up just a split second before you can track it."

"I can trace a phone call in under 15 seconds." She sharply answered Mindy, causing her to give a defeated look. "Okay. Respect." Mindy says, causing her friend Aria to laugh.

Mindy and Kirby continue chatting while Aria stretches her leg across Ethans lap. She looked at the boy with a soft expression. She knows something is wrong, but she couldn't ever guess what.

"Hey," She muttered, catching his attention. He looked at her with innocent eyes before giving her a fake smile. "Are you okay?" She asked him, to which he replied

"Of course." And nodded. Aria bit the inside of her cheek again, it was becoming a habit. Ethan held her hand tightly before Mindy and Kirbys arguing got louder.

"And you think we're safe because we're in broad daylight in a public place? This is exactly how our uncle Randy was murdered. Yanked into a van! Stab stab stab! No more Randy!" Mindy shouted. Aria widened her eyes, as did Chad.

Kirby was going to respond, before she got the message from Sam that the killer was on the phone.

The teens leaned over their seats to hear the conversation, before Kirby announces "Okay Sam we've got him." Making the older girl hang up. Kirby with a confused look says "It says hes in an apartment half way across the city.."

"On west 96th?" Tara exclaimed, causing Aria to widen her eyes in realization.

"How'd you know that?" Kirby asked.

"Gale." Aria announced.
