CHAPTER TWENTYARIA GAZED AT HER PHONE IN FEAR as she read 'No Caller ID.'
She looked up and saw Sam and everyone else far ahead of her. She tried walking closer as she answered the phone and heard the unnerving voice.
"Hello, Aria."
"Do you dipshits just keep recycling the same old shit?" She spewed in fear. She hurried over to Sam, but as she was about to press her shoulder she heard the caller say,
"I wouldn't do that just yet, Ari." The sound of her attacker's voice sent chills down her arm. She put her hand down and mumbled, "Oh yeah?"
"Yeah. You see Aria, I know how truly afraid you are. I know there are about six other strangers wearing the same costume as me, so I know you'll never guess where I am."
She looked around spotting the several different strangers wearing a ghostface mask.
Arias expression turned cold and determined as she realized the true hatred she had for this killer. Her gaze hardened as she remembered how this same caller killed her friends, and almost her.
"You're a fucking psychopath."
"You always were the smart one, weren't you?"
"Leave me alone." Aria spat, lowering her phone before she heard the voice say,
"You do anything that I don't tell you to, and I'll cut through your friends' skin until I see the life drain out of their bodies."
Aria gasped for air in fear as she spiraled, trying to gain Sam's attention without the killer noticing her. He chuckled in amusement.
"That won't work, you know. I suggest you walk the opposite direction."
"You're insane if you think I'm listening to you." She hissed back.
The caller took a deep breath in before spewing,
"I can see you Aria. I can see all of you, I know you're separated from your friends and I know just how and when to attack them so nobody would hear their screams." Aria heard the killer say, she changed her expression to show her inner rage.
"Walk. Walk the other direction now or your friends' become nothing but lifeless meat."
The determination in the killer's voice caused Aria to sprint away from her friends, trying to protect them.
She backed up against the wall of the platform, as she watched Sam realize she wasn't behind them anymore.
"Aria?" She heard Sam faintly call, as she saw her friends from a distance begin to worry.
"Sam," She mumbled, before the voice announced,
"Don't you dare."
"What the fuck do you want?" Aria asked, her emotions balancing between fear and rage.
"Poor sweet, innocent Aria. Excited, your plan worked?" The voice asked, causing Aria to tilt her head in confusion. "What?" She whispered.
"Just like you wanted, I'll always be here to follow you. I'll shadow you for the rest of your short life."
"You're a fucking psycho, and you're gonna fucking die." She spat, hearing the killer's ghostly reply of "Maybe. But not before you do, Ari."
The sound of the caller hanging up caused Aria to run towards her friends.
"Sam!" She shouted, grabbing the girl's arm.
"Aria, where the hell were you?" Sam asked, as Aria frantically replied
"He's here! The killer, he called me."
The girl's eyes widen as Chad takes Aria's hand
and everyone rushes out of the subway.
