You're Allowed to Live

Not beta read, just wrote and published. Sorry for any mistakes or plot holes I will try to go back and fix them in the future.

After convincing Ace that she wasn't joking and was sober, Ace finally accepted that his brother was alive. He couldn't believe it, after all these years Sabo was still alive.

"Where is he? Why didn't he come back?" He asks concerned.

"He lost his memory in the explosion." Ve explains, "He's been with the Revolutionary Army since then. I'm actually looking for him right now."

"Sabo? Is this the brother who died when you were children?" Marco asks listening to the conversation. Ace nods still in shock,

"Yeah, his ship was blown up by a celestial dragon. His body was never found." He turns back to Vienna, "He's alive? And doing okay?" His voice breaks as he fights back tears.

"He has some scarring from the explosion, but other than that he is healthy and safe. Still got the signature top hat too even without remembering his past." Vienna explains thinking back to her dream. Something else clicks in her head, "The third hat!" She mutters remembering a dream she told Law about.

"What? Third hat?" Ace asks confused.

"When I was with the Heart Pirates I had several dreams of Law's past and future. One was a glimpse of a battle a few years from now. Law said the other parts of the dream matched the description of Doflamingo. There were three hats shown representing the people in this battle, one was Law's, the other was Luffy's, and I recognized the third, but couldn't place it. It was Sabo's hat! Meaning he will help Luffy in a fight several years from now." Ace smiles,

"Just like old times!" He frowns for a second, "Do I not help in the fight? If it's against Doflamingo, that's going to be a hard fight for even Luffy." Ace looks back to Ve who sits silently, "Huh? What's wrong?" He glances at Marco who sighs,

"This future probably takes place after your capture and execution. So if you don't survive you obviously won't be there. If you do maybe the future could change or it will stay the same-yoi." Marco explains. Ace pales at the thought forgetting their earlier conversation.

"Oh, right. I might die in two years."

"No, you won't." Both men turn to Vienna surprised, "I won't let you! You promised Luffy and me that you wouldn't die. So you're not allowed to die, Ace, we will fight for you!" Vienna promises, gripping her brother's hand. Ace frowns staring at their linked hands,

"But do I deserve to live? Being his son maybe I am always going to be destined to die."  Vienna wants to hit Ace annoyed that he still thinks of himself in this way,

"Ace, no one who cares about you cares about who your father was. Most people who love you actually admire and respect the man! In the future, I saw hundreds of your brothers, and Whitebeard die so that you had the chance to live!" Vienna tries to explain this to her blockhead of a brother without yelling. Marco hums in agreement,

"Pop's will do anything for his children, even going to war against the world government. Your blood does not define who you are-yoi." He says.

"Even if we have to defy fate, you won't die this time Portgas D. Ace!" Vienna announces pointing an accusing finger at the pirate, "You're allowed to live! So don't give up!" Vienna pauses then continues with a soft smile, "We're both allowed to live no matter what others tell us or try to do to us." Ace leans forward capturing Vienna in a tight hug which is a little awkward when accomadating her wings.

"Thank you." He mumbles in her wings. After the heart-to-heart conversation, Thatch interrupts with more drinks bringing back the party atmosphere. Ace drowns himself in alcohol but never seems to be affected by it! Vienna on the other hand sticks to water since she had a few glasses earlier. She definitely doesn't have the alcohol tolerance of a pirate yet.
