emp·ti·ness:

"She sleeps all day. Dreams of you in both worlds. Tills the blood, in and out of uterus. Wakes up smelling of zinc, grief sedated by orgasm, orgasm heightened by grief. God was in the room when the man said to the woman, "I love you so much. Wrap your legs around me. Pull me in, pull me in, pull me in." Sometimes when he'd have her nipple in his mouth, she'd whisper, "Oh, my God." That, too, is a form of worship. Her hips grind, pestle and mortar, cinnamon and cloves. Whenever he pulls out ... loss. Dear moon, we blame you for floods ... for the flush of blood ... for men who are also wolves. We blame for the night for the dark, for the ghosts."

Paris, France.

This was where Tayla and Chris spent half of their honeymoon at after their wedding. Only half because he knew this was where she always wanted to go for her honeymoon and he always wanted to go to the Maldives so why not do both?

Their honeymoon lasted two weeks. One week in Paris and one week in the Maldives.

It was beautiful.

Peaceful.

Romantic.

Every time they came here together, they couldn't help but to be hit with the memories and always created new ones.

This time around though...it was depressing. Like the city just knew they weren't in a good place and weren't happy.

Rain for the next four days she was here.

Cloudy skies.

Thunderstorms.

Ugly.

Depressing.

"Mommy...I miss daddy," Ayla spoke up taking her attention away from her tablet and the cartoon show that was playing on it while she was seated on the couch of the hotel room.

The hotel room Chris and Tayla always bought when they came to Paris.

Ayla hasn't seen Chris in over three weeks now since New York when he made sure she seen her father and at first she didn't notice but it was now hitting her that she hasn't heard her dad's voice in so long or was held in his arms in so long.

Renee raised an eyebrow and looked at Tayla who trying to figure out answer for her four year old.

"Um...you do?"

"Mhm...Is he coming?" She tilted her head concerned while Tayla sat getting herself together for the fashion show in a few hours. She sucked in a breath and shrugged making Renee roll her eyes and stand up walking over to Ayla.

"I'm sure your daddy misses you too and will see you when you get home. Come on, let's get you ready for the event." She held her hand out for Ayla to grab in which she did and they walked to the bathroom leaving Tayla alone to do her makeup. Usually, she'd have her glam team but she figured all those people in one room along with her child and mother would've been too overwhelming for her.

"I don't know why you keeping that child from her father," Her mother scolded walking back in the room to grab Ayla's towel.

"I'm not keeping her from anybody. If he wanted to see his daughter, he could."

"Oh, so making sure her schedule is busy enough to where it interferes with his so he doesn't have time to even plan something with his child isn't keeping him from his daughter?" Renee questioned while placing her hand on her hip smartly. Tayla rolled her eyes discreetly as possible and sighed while finishing up her makeup.
