Sitting in the map room alone, Ser held a communications device to his ear. He spoke very softly, occasionally checking to make sure there was no one watching, listening, or approaching.
"Yes... No, I am not sure when they'll be ready... yes, like I told you time and time again, we'll be on the planet shortly," Ser responded. With every question he was asked, he would have an immediate answer.
As he continued to talk, he began to hear other voices. Not voices that came from the other side of the communication device, but voices coming from down the hall. Panicking, he tried to think of an idea. He couldn't just hang up on the person he was talking to, but if anyone else heard him, he could be in deep shit.
Suddenly, Neena and Guardian Babe walked into the room. They were laughing about something, but it was clear to Ser that they were unaware of what he was doing. But they were in the room, which meant he had no choice. Quickly pulling the device away from his ear, he hung up the call and turned to face his crewmates, faking a smile as the panicked look was still there.
"Hey Ser, we had a question for you," Guardian Babe chuckled, trying to calm herself down.
"Oh? You did? What's up?" Ser asked. It was clear they had no idea what he was doing. Good, he thought.
"So when we finish this mission, whatever it is, what're you gonna do with your share of the Cosmo Coins we get?" she asked. It was an interesting yet very valid question.
"I, uhm... y'know I haven't thought of it. I didn't realize we were getting paid," Ser answered, nodding his head. He really was unaware of the money they were getting for this.
"Well, I KNOW what I'm gonna do! I'm getting tired of being a nobody!," Guardian Babe exclaimed.
And she had a point. They all were merely nobodies. The only two who had some reputation throughout the galaxy were Neena and Onyx."Ok, calm down there killer," Neena laughed. Were they drunk? Something was off with those two.
"Well, that's good to know. If you'll excuse me though, I'm gonna go to my quarters and take a bath." Nodding and standing up, Ser left the two females sitting there by the map.
Immediately, Guardian Babe stopped laughing and looked over at her friend.
"Nothing, I guess we just go let him know," she spoke quietly, just in case Ser or anyone else was listening.
"I agree, let's go back," Neena said, standing up.
Nodding to each other, the two got up and headed towards the Crews Quarters, where they'd enter the last room on the right, Onyx's Room.As they entered, they closed the door behind them and turned around to see Onyx sitting at a desk reading something on a holopad. He'd eventually shut it down, however, and turned to the two girls. He'd smile and stand up, approaching them.
"Good news I hope?" he asked, folding his hands in front of him.
"Unfortunately no," Neena replied, looking over at Guardian Babe. "Ser really thought we were getting paid, which isn't true obviously. He seemed clueless. So that just gets rid of him."
"So if Ser is oblivious, and Veta is just always left out of these things, then we're stuck," Graviton sighed.
"At this point, we might have to wait until we arrive at the planet to find out, seems like no one has a clue what's going on," Guardian Babe informed, bearing an upsetting face.
"I agree, we've been flying for a good while now, so... we should arrive around-", Neena began to speak, however, before she could finish, Lux's voice began speaking over the ship's comms system.
