It was now the summer holidays, it had been a rough end of the year (Y/N) had joined Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna and Neville when they went to the ministry to battle the death eaters. Fred had been so worried as soon as they were reunited, he hugged her so tightly and kept kissing her and he wouldn't let go of her hand for hours.
(Y/N) felt awful for Harry losing Sirius he had already lost so much, and it was sad for Sirius too to die after being free again for such a short time. She herself had suffered loss, soon after her dad had died suddenly of cancer, so she was in a dark place too. As soon as Fred received her owl, he dropped everything with the shop, left George in charge and came straight to stay with her and her mum.
As soon as he turned up, she broke down again "(Y/N) I'm so sorry" Fred said his eyes filled with sympathy, and he held her tightly and stroked her soothingly. (Y/N)'s mum (Y/M/N) loved Fred
"Fred it's so nice to meet you at last, I have heard so much about you" (Y/M/N) commented. (Y/N) blushed and Fred grinned "I wish it was under better circumstances. But I'm glad you're here and that you make (Y/N) so happy." She beamed at him, and Fred beamed back.
"It's so nice to meet you too. (Y/N) means everything to me, I love her very much and I will help in any way I can" he replied, his voice filled with conviction. Fred certainly helped, he helped organise the funeral, he brought (Y/N) breakfast in bed and endless books and cups of tea. He ran her baths and watched films with her, and they relived endless memories of her dad.
"I wish he could have met you; he was a massive prankster too you know. He would have liked you." (Y/N) whispered.
Fred smiled "So do I, I would have liked him too."
Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna and Neville came round to visit often too. Everyone was sensitive and caring. The Weasleys also came to visit, and Molly and (Y/M/N) got on swimmingly. Everyone was there at the funeral and Fred held her tightly. Fred continued to stay with her after the funeral, and she showed him more of her muggle life which he was greatly interested in, he especially loved the cinema and TV, and he laughed when she showed him the porn she had watched before they were together.
She read to him, and he let her help with some of his inventions. They went for long walks and picnics, and to the beach and swimming. They went out for food and drinks and (Y/N) felt her happiness returning. "You know all this muggle stuff is giving me new invention ideas" he winked and (Y/N) snorted amused.
She missed her dad, but Fred helped a lot. Fred eventually had to go back to the shop, he asked her if she wanted to stay with him, as they had now bought a place above the shop as they had been so successful. "I will come and stay soon" (Y/N) said "but well you will be busy with the shop in the day, and I don't want to leave my mum alone."
Fred nodded in understanding "I will come and see you soon and we will write regularly, when you come to get your Hogwarts things come and have a tour, I can't wait to show you!" His eyes lit with pride and excitement.
"I can't wait to see it!" (Y/N) replied warmly.
...
After Fred left, Mrs Weasley invited (Y/N) and her mum to spend the rest of the summer at the burrow which they gladly accepted. (Y/N) got top results in her OWLs like Hermione. Ron and Harry had also done well. Fred was immensely proud when she showed him her results, he pulled her into a hug and kissed her. "Well done, I'm so proud of you. I knew you could do it. You're going to have a lot more qualifications than me" he laughed.
"Come off it, we all know that you and George are just as smart as Hermione. I mean look at all that stuff you invented. How many people could actually do that ay?" (Y/N) insisted, Fred winked at her, but she saw he looked pleased and a little mollified.
