Sunoo stopped short, looking at Sunghoon in surprise.

"Huh?"

"I asked 'would you want to go get dinner?'  You worked right through lunch."

Sunoo felt his heart race. He had been very deliberately avoiding looking at his phone so that he wouldn't be tempted to text NiKi back, but as he had been washing up, he just happened to look down and see there were waiting messages that he was excited to answer.

But he also didn't want Sunghoon to feel ignored.  He could count on one hand the number of times Sunghoon has asked him to have dinner. Because the number was one. This was the one and only time Sunghoon had asked him to have dinner.

"Sure!" Sunoo answered cheerfully, putting his phone - and by extension NiKi - in his back pocket. "That would be fun. Where do you want to go?"

"Ummm...I have no idea; I didn't think beyond asking the question. Wherever you want to go is fine by me."

They packed up their bags and an exhausted Sunoo decided that rather than back-and-forth about where to go they could just go to the little restaurant on the corner.  The pair locked up the bakery and began walking that way.

"We can't stay out too late, Sunghoon, we have far too much to do in the morning."

"Woah, you sound like me," Sunghoon laughed. "I thought I was the responsible one here."

Sunoo chuckled as he felt his phone vibrate in his bag. Sunghoon looked over at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Do you need to get that?  You seem like you want to..."

"No, I'm okay," Sunoo turned to smile at Sunghoon, making sure to look him directly in the eye. He needed Sunghoon to know that he was an important part of his life.

Sunghoon nodded and looked down at the sidewalk with a smile.

A few minutes later the two were sitting down at their table looking at the menus.  Sunoo was chattering away about how he didn't know how hungry he was until he started to smell food that someone else had cooked.

Sunghoon felt really proud of himself. There had been so many times that he had watched Sunoo rush out to spend time with Jungwon or to this event or this dinner.  And he wasn't jealous of Sunoo spending time with people. He just wished that he could be included.

At dinner the other night his sister had told him that he needed to put himself out there a bit more. He was too young to just hide behind a desk in a tiny office all day, only to appear in public BEHIND Kim Sunoo.

But that wasn't really it, either. Sunghoon liked keeping to himself for the most part, but he wouldn't mind it if Sunoo asked him to join he and his friends every now and then.

Sunghoon was trying very, very hard to match Sunoo's smile and enthusiasm during their conversation.

Sunoo noticed this, and thought it was adorable.  He had never seen such an animated version of Park Sunghoon, and it made him happy.

"You should smile more often," Sunoo told him.

Sunghoon blushed, caught off guard. "Wh-what?"

"Um...what? You should smile more. You have a handsome smile. Plus, you have these cool fangy teeth I didn't even know about."  Sunoo took a big bite. That last part was a lie. He knew all about Sunghoon's smile.

Sunghoon laughed again, "Well, thank you.  I'll try."

Sunoo's phone vibrated again but this time Sunoo didn't seem to even acknowledge it. So Sunghoon didn't either.
