"There he is!" Jay greeted Sunoo with a smile and a kiss on the cheek as he walked into the center. "How's everything going?"
"It's going," Sunoo giggled, "It's a lot of preparation. I really hope that we can do the fundraiser justice."
"I have full and complete faith and confidence in you," Jay smiled, "and I really appreciate everything you're doing. For the event and the center, the kids. EVERYONE. You're a help and an inspiration to a lot of people."
Sunoo smiled at Jay, feeling his face turn hot. He knew that he was blushing and saw Jay smile sweetly in response but knew he was showing respect to Sunoo by not calling him out on it.
"I do have bad news, though," Jay frowned, "The kitchen isn't working today."
Sunoo raised an eyebrow. "The kitchen?"
"Yes," Jay nodded.
"Like the whole entire kitchen?"
"Kitchen, stove; whatever. It's not working. So, you won't be able to do baking class today."
"Ohhhhh," Sunoo laughed, "well, that's okay. I've got plenty of cooking happening over the next few days. Is there an activity you'd like me to do instead?"
"Not that I can think of. NiKi is speaking to the kids later today, so they have an activity planned. Plus, Heeseung and I are both here and of course regular staff. You can go have a day to yourself if you want," Jay smiled.
Sunoo looked at Jay as though he were crazy.
"This IS my day to myself, Jay, you know that. I'll hang out and see where I can be of help. Plus, I'd be interested to hear NiKi speak."
This time Jay raised an eyebrow. "Oh REALLY?" he laughed.
"Yeah, of course!" Sunoo answered, shoving Jay's shoulder. "The youngest detective ever in the history of Seoul. One who also was ALWAYS out about his sexuality throughout his time in the police force. That's extremely inspiring for these kids. I'd love to hear him."
"It has nothing at all to do with the fact that he's devastatingly handsome?" Jay smirked.
Once again, Sunoo felt his face turn red. It was true. Detective Nishimura WAS "devastatingly" handsome, as Jay had put it.
Sunoo had mentioned him to Jungwon before he first started bringing him along to volunteer. Sunoo, who was always very confident in speaking to others, found himself stumbling all over himself any time he was anywhere near him.
"I can't possibly believe that's true," Jungwon had said.
Then he had teased him for days when he went to volunteer with Sunoo and saw that it actually was true. Sunoo was a stuttering mess around NiKi.
"I just think his story is really fascinating," Sunoo giggled in response to Jay's accusatory expression, "and you aren't wrong. He's extremely good looking...But - "
"Who's good looking?" a deep voice asked behind Sunoo, and Sunoo's eyes widened as he locked eyes with Jay.
"Are you okay, Sunoo?" NiKi asked as he walked up to the pair. "You're face looks flushed. Are you getting sick?"
"Sick? No. Me? I never get sick. I mean, not NEVER but like not often," Sunoo scrambled.
He heard Jay laughing next to him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Sunoo opened his eyes again to look up at NiKi.
"So, I hear you're speaking to the kids today!" Sunoo smiled, "I'm excited to hear you share."
"Oh, you're going to be there? Cool," NiKi smiled, "I actually feel a little nervous about talking to the kids, which is very unlike me, so it will be nice to have you there."
