Everleigh woke up when the faint light of the sun traveled through the windows and landed on her face. She stared at the ceiling for a few seconds, the memories from the night before coming back to her like a flood.
Their moans, the intertwined breathing, their bodies collapsing against each other at a slow rhythm, Sebastian's lips on hers. Kissing her, erasing the aches carved on her body and within. Whispering, choking on her name.
And his hands... stroking, fondling, touching her, every corner, every inch, until it was him all she could see. Until it was him all she could feel.
She turned her head slightly, searching for him in the bed just to find him on his stomach, with his face buried between his pillow and her neck, as his soft breathing tickled on her skin. And then she felt the heavy arm wrapped around her stomach, tucking her against his body and she realized that's what had kept her warm the entire night after the fire went out. Sebastian was a walking heater and she had been sweating so much, that was probably what had brought her back to consciousness. She contained a smile and tried to put some distance in between their bodies.
A soft groan followed the movement and the arm around her waist tightened up, keeping her in place. She looked at his face again but his eyes were still closed. The change in the breathing pattern was different, a bit faster, which told her that he was awake.
- Sebastian, move your arm.
She whispered as she dug her fingers on his hand to try and break the grip, but he grabbed them in a rapid move and kept them in a lock, like they were holding hands. He let out an imperceptible grumble and she was only able to hear it because of how close his mouth was to her ear.
- Stop... moving.
- Sebastian, I am suffocating.
Another groan out of his lips and he just held her tighter to his body, his lips fully pressing against her neck, his voice sounded hoarse.
- You should've thought about that before you decided to leave in the middle of the night last time.
Oh, so it was his way to keeping her from fleeing, then. She stared at the ceiling, her lips pursing in exasperation. She could feel the sweat on her back soaking into the mattress underneath and the extreme heat triggered her fight response. She battled Sebastian's arm for a full minute, pushing with hands and legs against his body, trying to create some distance in between them but he was barely affected by her attempts. His cocky laugh and the smug on his voice only made her irritation grow bigger.
- You are going to have to do a lot better than that, Grayson.
She rolled her eyes, feeling his hand traveling from her stomach up to her face and grabbing her chin to turn her head to the side. Towards him. He was still smiling and his half open brown eyes had a glint of something she couldn't identify. She tried to fight him again but as soon as his lips found hers, she was done for. His hand was big enough to cup her jaw and throat together, and his mouth was soft and tender, eliminating whatever plans of escaping him she had.
- You are an idiot.
She mumbled against him, refusing to concede that easily to his touch, but they both knew the truth. Sebastian chuckled and finally released her from his grip, allowing her to get out of the bed and let the cool air dry the sweat of her body.
