This is how I cope when my life is slowly falling into pieces, and with the fact that I have a little sister when I look like a female Michael Afton I'm starting to see a pattern that I'm not so sure I like.

Like he promised you, Charlie's dad came before the party, but only by a minute, so in the end you arrived late anyway. Pretty ironic, because the group was waiting for you outside the diner.

"I know I said I was working, but I... wait, you intruded in my house and listened to what happened, why didn't you tell them?" You started blurring out an apology, when you remember that some idiot could have prevented the wait.

"Shit happens dear Ghost, can we go now? I'm starving."

"Wait, I'm still blocked at the fact that you intruded in her house." Jamie commented, and Alyssa nodded, moving away from his arm around her shoulders.

"You'll explain later, for now let's just go away from here." The girl gave a side eye to Michael, before walking away with you on the side.

"So, is something developing between you and the annoying bitch?" She whispered to you, even if you were meters away from the group of four boys behind.

"I don't know... I feel like the more I know of him, the more I hate him."

At your confession your friend made a subtle surprised face, accompanied by a muttered exclamation. As she wasn't believing it, or didn't want to.

"Listen [Name], I'm not supposed to tell you this, because of a... pact of some sorts, but whatever happens, please don't hate him."

She had a hurt look on her face, and together with what she just said, left you without any words. But then, as the group got closer, she switched back on her playful manners.

"Look at her, not even explaining why." You muttered to yourself, following the couple.

"Explaining what?" Michael creeped from behind, appearing almost from nowhere, which startled you.

"God, don't do that ever again. You almost gave me a heart attack."

"How are you so sensitive...?"

"What? You forgot my name too?"

"No... I'm just trying to think of a new one. Ghost is fine when you're alone, but it doesn't work between friends... How about Soy sauce?"

You had to stop walking to process the stupidity.

"Why Soy sauce?" In the end you decide to go along with the conversation, hoping to find some light at the end of the tunnel.

"Because you're salty." There wasn't. No light at the end of the tunnel, only dark and a horrible humor.

Your eyes started watering, as you lowered your head. "Do you really think I'm salty?"

The boy began to panic, trying to calm you down from crying. "Shit, no wait, [Name] I'm sorry, please don't cry, I-"

Your sobbing slowly turned into a laugh, a really loud one too. You could clearly tell that the boy was pretty upset.

"What the fuck? How can you do that? Like, crying on command?"

"I don't know. I tried to do it one time as a kid, it was believable for my mom, so I thought it could be the same for everyone else." You wiped off the fake tears from your face, right when Afton was frowning, which made you nervous a bit. It was intense, but in a scary way.
