Christine's pov:
Christian smiled at me. I realized that was his first time smiling at least to my knowledge. He looks a hundred times more beautiful than he already is. I've never, to be honest, thought of him as anything more than just a teammate but always had a schoolgirl crush on him at the back of my mind I always knew nothing is gonna happen as I want. It's just-
I snapped out of my thoughts when I just realized he was staring at me with those deep green-like eyes calm and just like has so many secrets down them but I don't know what it is.
" Your house is here," said Christian.
" Yeah"
"It seems like you zone out a lot"
" Yeah just a lot in my head right now"
" Or is it something else?"
They both looked into each other's eyes, looking into their souls.
" Thank you, I'll take it from here," said Christine breaking the silence between them.
" Where do you think you're going?"
Christine looked at him in utter shock and raised her eyebrows.
" Look at your arm it is bleeding"
" Yeah but I can dress it myself," said Christine.
Just then Christian went out and opened the door for her and offered his hand to her.
Christine's pov:
Did he just offer his hand to me and opened the...
" Are you not coming"
Christine held his hand and stepped out of the car. They together went to the elevator. They were standing in silence...
"I never realized you are so careless. You can never take care of yourself with one hand injured and you can see it's a deep cut"
" I just didn't want to trouble you"
" I'll never get troubled by you," said Christian and placed a glace at her with a concerned face.
The elevator dropped them on their floor. Christian helped her get into her home.
Christian's pov:
I've never been to any colleague's home for a long but her home is not so huge yet so cozy and feels like home. Well maintained a little messy and pictures of their friendship are all over the walls. It's a bit messy but I didn't like anything more simple yet so beautiful. It's a 2 BHK flat and I could already tell which is whose room.
" I know it's a bit messy," said Christine standing a bit far from him.
"It's just fine"
" You sit here and tell me where's the first aid box," said Christian after a pause.
"Yes, it's in the cabinet in the bathroom to the right down the hall," said Christine.
Christine's pov:
Christian went down the hall and brought the first aid box. The whole moment he applied the band-aid on my hand. He was quiet. In fact, he didn't even look at me except for the times I winced in pain when he accidentally touched the bruised part. He really was extremely gentle with me.
"It's fine now really ". He just looked at me after hearing this. His eyebrows rested for the first time today as if all this time he was in pain.
" it'll get fine," said Christian.
It was pouring outside.
" I think you should stay here for the night it's raining pretty heavily," said Christine after looking out the window.
" Yeah, you should probably get some rest, I'll be in the guest room. Call me if you need something " said Christian.
" Yeah, you should get some rest as well. We have to leave early in the morning tomorrow for a meeting "
He nodded as in a yes. He put a blanket over me. The whole situation seen from someone else's perspective is pretty weird. Even to some extent to me but it doesn't feel unreal. I observed him for the past few days and he isn't that bad. He does care for people, especially his teammates.
Christian was leaving her bedroom when Christine from the back lying down in her bed...
" Thank you, Christian"
" No need to thank me, good night Christine," Said Christian looking at her and then taking his leave to the guest room.
*After almost 2 hours*
Christine couldn't sleep at all. She was overthinking and was deep down in her mind worried for everyone. She texted Amyra's mother about how she was doing. She's like another daughter to Amyra's mother. Christine was restless and got up to make herself a cup of chamomile tea.
" You can't sleep either?" Christine said handing the coffee cup to Christian, standing on the balcony staring at the rain lost in his lane of thoughts.
" You know I've always loved the rain," said Christian taking the cup of coffee from her hand but didn't look away from the sight.
" Yeah me too"
" It's so pleasant whenever it rains, if you listen carefully you can hear them whispering," said Christian taking a sip of tea. " How can you drink this?"
" It helps with my sleeping. you should have it too, seems like you have a problem with sleeping too," said Christine.
" Why can't you sleep?"
" I have too much in my head because of this case, why can't you?"
"Um.. cause I have insomnia"
" Then you should definitely try chamomile tea, Amyra introduced it to me now I prefer it more than coffee"
" Seems like you both are pretty close to each other"
" We are family, She's the only family I have with me," said Christine with a slight smile on her face.
"What about your parents?" asked Christian looking at her with his deep green eyes " You don't need to answer if you don't want to"
" I have had no contact with them for over 10 years now," said Christine looking a bit down...
" What about you? You and Alex seem quite close too"
" Yes, we are...
Their conversation went on for hours. They both were talking to each other about pretty much everything, Christian is a single child so is Alex, They both are brothers from different mothers just like Amyra and Christine. The difference was they didn't have a sad childhood like them. Christian and Alex both are together since childhood since they were a child of 1 year. Christian always wanted to be a pilot but he couldn't because Alex didn't want him to be as they always wanted to do a job together. Alex is kinda scared of heights. Christian is a guy who is a mystery but that night he said about his life that nobody knew except Alex. He felt strangely good talking to her.
Christian's pov:
I haven't felt this way...
They went to get some sleep after almost talking for hours, the chamomile tea had an influence on them. Both of them slept peacefully after that.
