*The next morning*
They reached their office at 7 a.m. sharp. They were standing in front of Mr Grover with their new team including Christine, Amyra, Christian, Alex, David the computer expert, and Emma. Emma is much senior to all of us she's been working here for 20 years now and fought a lot of cases except this case which is exceptional. The chief gave them the deets of how, when where this started. He spoke to them for quite a minute now and wished them well for their journey.
They all got to work which means from then onwards they are all gonna be on caffeine and would have sleepless nights. The entire department is helping them cause this is something concerning nationwide. They belonged to the Directorate of Digital Innovation, Mission Centers, and Offices of the Director. They have been given the same room with their own desks so they can work together.
After 5 hours of research*
" So everyone please come to my desk" requested Emma. " Well there is no particular date of when it started but the unnatural activities of the people were seen in Chicago Illinois. It has also been seen in Indiana and Southwestern Wisconsin."
" So we have to check the CCTV cameras and also talk to the local police," said Alex.
" Absolutely, David I want you to take out the deets from the CCTV cameras of every street in Chicago. I, Alex Christine, and Amyra would go out to talk to the local police," said Christian.
" I'll keep on informing you what's happening here," Emma said.
Everyone fist-bumped each other. Amyra and Christine did their signature handshake. Max would be in the control room followed by David who would give the overall view of what's happening through the screens. Amyra drove her bike with Alex behind her and Christine drove her car with Christian in the passenger seat. They are going as AGENT RED, AGENT UMBER, AGENT BLACK, AND AGENT LIME respectively.
" Christine we have to gather as much as information as possible from the police and check the local cameras of all the affected places," said Christian.
" Yes I will sir," said Christine
" Just Christian," said Christian
Christine just looked at him and concentrated on driving again.
Christine pov :
I don't know what was inside the car. I don't know him much but the silence that we shared inside the car was not awkward at all. It rather felt comfortable. There were times when I shared glimpses of him. But he did not look at me at all. His eyes were fixed on the documents in his hand. He looked cold all the time as if he had no worries in his head or does not care about a single thing.
Amyra pov :
Alex Warner sitting behind me on a bike..... an unbelievable sight for sure. I saw him through the rear mirror but his eyes were fixated on the road ahead. After looking at him I thought, why does he have to be so damn professional all the time? Wait what? Why am I thinking this? I don't care at all. C'mon Amyra, you can do it !! Focus on the case !! It's about people and their lives which are at stake. This can happen later. JUST FOCUS ON THE CASE!
They reached the Pearl Pig Restaurant where a case was seen for the first time where a man was eating food from the food counter savagely ravaging the place totally. When they entered the place they could see food all over the place it was obviously under a crime scene. The tables, and kitchen were all over the place 2 people were killed one was a waiter and a 15-year-old kid. Amyra started asking the local detectives the rest were out talking with the victim's families.
"Hello! I'm AGENT RED," said Amyra
" Oh hello, I'm Aron"
"So, what's going on?"
" Yeah so, yesterday night at around 9 p.m. this man came in he was looking absolutely fine but after an hour or so he started behaving strangely like went to tables of customers eating their food and a woman said that he kept on saying something.. it is pretty strange that man's face can't be figured out from the CCTV camera and also he then stabbed them" replied the detective.
" Alright, thank you please keep on informing me.."
Amyra going to Alex who is standing with the family members of the victims. She called them aside after they consoled the people, She told them what was the matter and it wasn't of much importance.
" Nobody has seen his face but his one finger is cut off from his body," said Alex
" Yeah! it's not there but strangely his face is blurred in the CCTV," said Amyra staring at the body outlines on the floor.
" I think that's a clue that their fingers get cut off," said Alex
" Every killer has their signature pattern to mark their doings like some put scars on their victims but in this case, he's making them into a creature and marking them by cutting their finger," said Amyra.
"We need to visit other places too to see what's going on there," said Alex looking at everyone.
Alex left the place with Amyra...
Meanwhile...
" Hey! Emma I need you to check the nearby restaurants, offices, drive-throughs, and food places and check their CCTV cameras any man with one finger missing," Christian said through the Bluetooth in his ear.
" Hey! David what's up?" said Christine while driving going to their next destination.
" Yeah so, I don't know how to put this but there's something up with Grand Park. I think you should go there first..." replied David.
" Going right away ". Said Christine.
" Christian, David informed us that we must go to Grand Park. Some unnecessary activity is going on there "
" Okay ". Said Christian while nodding his head and looking at the road ahead.
We reached Grand Park at last. When we reached the Grand Park it was a surreal sight. There was blood everywhere and not a single sight can be seen. All the swings were turned upside down. Several rides were broken. It was a mess.
" Why is it so unusually quiet ?" Said, Christian.
" Look," said Christine pointing fingers at a girl who was sitting with her back arched and facing the other side and her head hung down, her back facing them. Christine went there to see if she was alright. She was going to touch her shoulder when...
" yoooooo!" shouted Christian holding her hand back.
Christine looked at him with a sign in her eyes 'It's okay'. She went in front of her to see her heart was ripped out. The girl's eyes were white, a little tap and she would fall on the ground upside down.
After a couple of minutes.
The local detective came, and people gathered all around. Her mother came running to see her daughter wailing it was such a terrifying yet so sorrowful moment all around. People are dying all around. Christian and Christine face each other with their arms folded. The detective came to them...
" Well she died a couple of hours ago.. we've sent her for an autopsy and will inform you with further details."
"Thank you," said Christian.
" I never saw any bite signs on her... the heart was scrapped out of her body," said Christine looking down at the ground.
Just after some time while Christian and Christine were talking Amyra called them saying where are they and that they should head back to the office.
" Lime let's head back we have a lot of maths to do... I need to find the equation" Christine said this and threw the keys to him "You drive"
" Cool! But don't you think these are too fast and actually vanish within this time? They look like normal humans it's really difficult to distinguish them" said Christian while walking towards their car.
