On entering the room Christine mouthed her words to her, ' What happened?'
Amyra mouthed her words "It was Mom" and "Oh" came from Christine. Amyra sat beside Christine on the chair.
*30 min pre-operation*
"How's your hand doing?" asked Christian coming near to Christine when she got up to make herself a sandwich.
"Yeah it's okay"
"What do you think would happen,?" Christian asked with his arms folded head down his back leaning against the cabinet.
"I really don't know, I just want this to end soon. I want everyone to be just alright and back to normal" said Christine handing a sandwich to Christian.
"Yeah I know it's really horrifying," he said taking a bite of the sandwich. His expressions say that the sandwich is good enough. Munching on it as he speaks...
They both were talking outside the room...
*Meanwhile*
In the room, Alex approached Amyra and handed her the chain she had left in his car while she was asleep. It was a chain that had Christine and her picture in the locket.
" Oh, Thank you" She took it, and their fingers brushed with each other.
" Yeah, you left it in the car. By the way, do you snore this often?" Chuckled Alex, raising an eyebrow at her. Teasing her unknowingly.
" I was really tired I just passed out, really sorry for that"
"I'm just kidding, don't worry you didn't snore but yes you did talk in your sleep," said Alex standing up from her.
" Wait what did I say?"
"Something you wouldn't say when you're conscious!" and walked away from her with a half smile.
Amyra's pov:
What's that supposed to mean, wait did I say something I wasn't supposed to say? Crap fuck my life bruh...
Alex's pov:
I'm glad she said that...
*It's time*
Christian and Christine entered the room as Emma called them in.
" Guys guys I need you all here...
Anytime now... everyone was in their position ready for the attack and to catch the jerks red-handed but...
" Wait that's not the ship that was supposed to reach the deck..." said Emma, looking at others.
The ship that was supposed to reach the deck took another turn and reached the pacific ocean. Christian called the forces and police to back off as they are not the smugglers.
" This wasn't supposed to happen... " said Alex moving out of the room.
Everyone was in panic mode because their plan just flopped. David was working on his computer to see if the smugglers even came near the deck but no.
"That means, they already knew!!" said Amyra looking at Emma, who was utterly disappointed.
"I really can't think straight now," Christine said and moved out of the room. Frustrated everyone didn't want to talk to each other.
They were all over the place. Some went to the terrace, the police were told to come back as well as the forces Christine was sitting in her chair inside her room, with her head held down. Amyra went into the room and handed the call to Christine which was from Mr. Grover. She explained the entire situation to her as Emma was not in the room at the moment and David has gone out to clear his head. Everyone was in shock and disbelief that if this plan passed out then half or even the entire case would have gotten solved but some things are not in your hands at all.
After disconnecting the call
"How did they know?" asked Amyra to Christine who sat beside her.
"I really don't know..."
" Christine something is wrong "
" It is definitely. The jerks wouldn't have known if someone had not informed them. But the fact that nobody else except us knew about it. This is so freaking confusing.
" He really thinks of himself as a mastermind "
" I swear to God Amyra. Once I get a hold of this guy I'll not spare him ".
Christine and Amyra both were talking when David interrupted them and called them outside for a second hold meeting.
"Whatever is done is done. Now we got to gear up again and find the person behind this " said Christian.
" Alex I need you to stay up with me for some paperwork," said Christian
Alex nodded as in a yes.
" David and Emma keep a check on all the places that are drawn on the map," said Alex.
" what about us ?" Said Amyra looking at everyone.
" you guys should take a rest. You guys have been through a lot in the last few days. Come early in the morning tomorrow " said Christian.
" But we are fine. Anyway does it really matter ?" Said, Amyra.
"Amyra follow me to my room," said Alex
Amyra nodded a yes and went after Alex.
" Guys y'all can get back to work," said Christian.
Christine, Emma, and David were going outside the room when suddenly
" Christine you stay," said Christian.
Everybody left. Christine stayed back.
" Christine you can go home alright?"
" No. Everybody is staying here. I want to help too.
" Christine don't make me repeat my words. It's already late and I can't even drop you due to the impending work so please "
" I can go home by myself regardless of the time ".
" Okay let's say that you can go back home all by yourself. You have to keep yourself healthy as well "
" I don't care "
" I care "
" what? "
"Christine please it's really not the time for these things "
"Why do you care about me so much ?"
Christian's phone started ringing. He signaled Christine not to stay back and he left the room.
*Meanwhile in Alex's room*
" Amyra, what the hell are you thinking?"
" what do you mean?"
" please go home "
" but why "
" Because you need rest "
" I don't "
" Amyra please "
" you are confusing me so much "
" Exactly what is so confusing "
" you "
" why ?"
" because yo-
Emma entered the room and called Alex as one of the police from the headquarters is calling them.
Alex glanced at her for a few seconds and left the room.
