Hazel's POV
Daisy and I walked onto the deck just as Alexander, George and Amina were coming up the stairs. At the sight of Amina, Daisy's cheeks turned a faint pink. I smirked at her causing her to glare back at me then state "Hazel why don't you and Alexander do something on your own and let the grownups talk"
I rolled my eyes then looked up at Alexander. I grinned "come on Alex, we're much better than those idiots anyway."
Grabbing his hand, I pulled him towards an inside part of the ship.
George's POV
"She called him Alex. Dear me she's got bold." I laughed.
"I don't like it." Daisy grumbled.
"You don't like anything to do with Hazel and Alexander." Amina laughed.
"Amina that is simply not true " Daisy retorted.
Oh God I'm the third wheel - again. How am I the only one who hasn't been affected by the lovey dovey stuff. They carried on arguing back and forth for a little while until I had enough so I said loudly, "Does Hazel know Alexander likes her?"
Daisy laughed "nope she's so oblivious, does Alexander know Hazel likes him?"
"Nope." I laughed.
"How, it's so obvious?" Amina asked.
Daisy rolled her eyes "Hazel thinks he still has a crush on me "
"I don't really think Alex had a crush on you in the first place Daisy, he might have for a few hours, maybe a day or so but by the end of our Cambridge case he was smitten with Hazel - not that I think he knew until the Rue." I laughed.
"Wait Alexander had a crush on Daisy?" Amina asked.
Daisy nodded which caused Amina to burst out into fits of giggles. That then caused Daisy and I to begin to chuckle.
Hazel's POV
Alexander and I were sat next to eachother inside, talking about our cases. I pulled out a notebook from my little bag, tore a piece of paper out then wrote something on it in Morse code.
. ...- . -. / - .... --- ..- --. .... / .-- . / .... .- ...- . -. .----. - / ... . . -. / . .- -.-. .... / --- - .... . .-. / ..-. --- .-. / .- / ..-. . .-- / -- --- -. - .... ... --..-- / .. - / ..-. . . .-.. ... / .-.. .. -.- . / .- / -.-- . .- .-. .-.-.- / .. / -- .. ... ... . -.. / -.-- --- ..- / .- .-.. . -..- / -..-
Even though we haven't seen each other for a few months, it feels like a year. I missed you Alex x
Before I could die with embarrassment, I passed the note to Alexander, my cheeks burning.
Alexander looked at me, his eyebrows raised however he read my message. His baby-blue eyes scanned the paper before he quickly turned it over and scribbled something back.
As he handed me the note I was sure I could see the tips of his ears turn pink.
.-.. .. ... - . -. / .. / .-- .- -. - . -.. / - --- / .- .--. --- .-.. --- --. .. --.. . / ..-. --- .-. / .-.. .- ... - / -.-. .... .-. .. ... - -- .- ... / .. / .-- .- ... / ... - ..- .--. .. -.. / ..-. --- .-. / ..-. .- -. -.-. -.-- .. -. --. / -.. .- .. ... -.-- .-.-.- / .. / -- .. ... ... . -.. / -.-- --- ..- / - --- --- / .... .- --.. / -..-
My heart was beating at a hundred miles an hour. I was struggling to translate what Alexander had written as I couldn't think straight. Eventually I managed to do it.
Listen I wanted to apologize for last Christmas I was stupid for fancying Daisy. I missed you too Haz x
I wish he didn't bring last Christmas up. My nose scrunched up in irritation which caused Alexander to chuckle. "It probably wasn't the best idea to bring up last year was it?"
I looked up, slightly shocked.
"I was assuming that you were annoyed given that your nose had scrunched up." He explained.
He paid attention to me. He noticed the change in my facial features. Could Daisy be right? No...she can't be...could she?
