JUNE 28TH
ANNAMy schedule for the last 2 months has been jammed packed. I've been having dinner twice a week at my parents and dinner at Anthony's parents once a week, followed by brunch with the entire family. I spend my lunch in Armani's office now, trying to get to know him better. Our relationship took some time, but I can confidently say we're both comfortable with each other now, where we can tease each other, but also have deep talks. I always wished for a sibling, and gaining one has been a huge blessing I never knew I needed.
I've been loving it, but my body disagrees as I throw up breakfast into the toilet bowl.
"Baby you're burning up." Anthony pouts as he checks my forehead.
I sit up immediately, "I'm okay, I can work."
"Nope. I already texted your brother. He said you can come back when you're feeling better."
"But what am I supposed to do all day?" I whine.
"Hmmm, sleep." He crosses his arms, giving me a challenging look, leaving no room to argue.
I sigh.
He chuckles and picks me up, placing me on our bed, and tucks me in and kisses my forehead. "Trust me, you'll thank me later."
"Okay. Keep Matteo away, I don't want him catching the stomach bug."
He nods, "Sleep, I'll come back with lunch when you wake up."
One hour into my nap, I run up from my bed and heave up the rest of my breakfast. I groan as I lean against the toilet.
Anthony comes rushing in, he checks my forehead, "You're getting hotter. Should we go to the hospital?"
I shake my head, "I promise, it's just a stomach bug. It'll pass in 24 hours." I put my head back in the toilet, throwing up some more.
He pushes my hair away from my face and rubs my back as I continue heaving. He helps me up to the sink, I rinse out my mouth and lean back against him. He rubs my arms, "Come on, let's get back to bed."
He carries me and places me back into the bed. I curl up into a ball as I feel waves of nausea roll through me. He places a cold towel over my forehead.
The doorbell rings, "I'll check it, I'll be right back."
I clench my eyes and nod.
A few minutes later, I feel soft hands on my face. Blinking my eyes open, I see my mom sitting next to me. "Hey lovebug, Anthony said you weren't feeling good, I brought over soup. Do you think you can hold it down?"
I sit up, "I'll try."
She smiles and leaves the room, coming back with a tray, placing it on my lap. There's a glass of water, medicine, soup, and a piece of bread. I swallow down a spoonful of soup, and it's amazing. I smile as I continue eating. "Don't eat too fast, I don't want to upset your stomach."
I nod and eat what I can. She hands me medicine and a glass of water to take next. She fluffs the pillow behind me, and pats it. I lay down as she runs her hands through my hair.
"Get some sleep lovebug, I'll come back to check on you."
I nod and close my eyes.
A FEW HOURS LATER
I feel warm rough hands on my forehead, "Your temperature is coming down."
I open my eyes and stare up at Anthony, "Thank you for taking care of me."
