I had been running for I don't even know how long. But once I stopped I was panting, attempting to catch my breath as I hunched over putting my hands on my knees.

I had finally made it to the spot as I walked forward and sat down at the edge of the small pond. I looked into the pond. A girl with a long wavy ponytail, so dark brown it almost appeared black and blackish brown eyes stared back at me, panting. I lay back putting an arm over my forehead as I stared up at the sky.

I broke down starting to cry as I moved onto my side, curling into a ball.

My fathers house? How could she be so stupid? She knows what he's done! He kil-
A quick blur stopped my train of thought. Something ran by.

I sat up taking my hair out of it's ponytail letting it fall over my shoulders as I run my fingers through it before I move it to my back. As I get up, I wipe my tears. I see it again, to my left.

Something's coming. I step backwards right before something flashes in front of me. If I didn't move, it would've snatched me.

My heart started racing, pounding loudly in my chest. I turn, facing the direction the thing went. When suddenly something pins my to the ground.

I close my eyes as I get forced to the ground.

Once I open my eyes I see a girl, around my age, holding my throat. Her other hand is in the air in a fist, ready to strike any time. I observed her. Her hair was long and black over her shoulder, almost touching the ground. Her eyes were a soothing hazel that you could easily get lost in. I then observed her pose, looking for possible openings to escape.

Her left leg is slacked, it would be easy to knock her off balance and reverse the hold.

She then moved her legs to where they were on top of mine, making sure I couldn't move them.

What the fuck?

I looked at her, she was staring at me intensely.

Without thinking my arm quickly shot up, taking her wrist that was in the air, forcing it into the ground. At the same time I took the hand that was around my neck and moved it to my other hands, grabbing both wrists in my left hand holding them above her head.

As I shifted on top of her as I blocked her legs, making sure she couldn't kick me in anyway.

In the end, both her arms where above her head in me left hand while my right hand was around her neck.

I wasn't really surprised that my body did this out of my control. It's used to these situations.

"Who the fuck are you?" I ask.

She stares at me quietly.

I tighten my grip around her neck making her wince.

"I asked, who are you" I repeated.

"Kuroka." She choked out.

Her voice was so soft and gentle. As I took a closer look at her, I realized exactly how gorgeous she was. I blushed and loosened my grip on her neck. I closed my eyes shaking my head.

Can you really not shut up with those thoughts for two seconds, you damn lesbian idiot?

"What are you doing here." I ask her.

Once I open my eyes I realize she is blushing as well.

"The meeting." Kuroka murmured under her breath.

"What do you mean, what meeting?"

"The meeting." She repeats.

I groan internally.

"Alright let's try a different approach. What is this meeting for?"

She simply stares at me. After a few moments she opens her mouth, only to be interrupted by the sound of clapping.

"Wow Kuroka, good job being bested by a mere human." A deep voice says.

What seems like a teenage boy steps out from the shadows of the trees. He had stopped clapping, hands in the pockets of his jeans. He looks at Kuroka with a grin on his face.

"Can you shut up Kokuyoseki." Kuroka groaned.

"Ah ah ah. It's Obsidian."

Kuroka rolled her eyes. "Yea yea."

I looked at him, then to her. Not sure of what to do. Did they just forget I was here?
Suddenly the boy is right beside us.

"Can you please let her go now? I'll only ask politely once." He asked as he looked at me.

I stare at him for a moment before saying, "And why should I do that?"

"Because then I won't have to kill you." He answered simply.

I remove my hand from Kuroka's throat to cover my mouth, trying to cover the sound of my laughing.

I can feel them staring at me as I do this. As soon as I compose myself I remove my hand from my mouth.

"Oh, yea? Honestly, who do you think you are to laugh? At me, of all people?" He said in a harsh tone.

"Oh I'm sorry, I just can't believe you think that you can kill me." I responded with a grin on my face.

In a quick blur, Kuroka was on top of me shielding me, while the boy, Obsidian, had his fist halfway through a tree, right where I had been holding her down.

"Enough Obsidian, think about how mother and father would feel if there was a dead body in their meeting place." Kuroka told him.

I groaned aloud this time. What fucking meeting?

Obsidian stared at her blankly for a moment before looking at his fist.

"Yea yea, fine." He sighed.

Kuroka let me go and walked to the pond, sitting down where I had been sitting before this whole event.

Idiots. They just left me, they dropped their guard, did they just forget everything that happened? I thought.

Kuroka turned to look at me. She stared at me for a few moments.

"Hey, what?" I said after about a minute.

She stared at me for a moment more before turning to look across the pond again.

Obsidian went over to her and tapped her on the shoulder.

"They're here." He said.

"Already? They shouldn't have been here for another ten minutes." She told him.

"Well, I guess they're early."

She nodded and got up, brushing the dirt off of her pants and shirt.

Did they REALLY just forget I was here? I thought to myself.
I was still sitting where she had protected me, I mean, I didn't really know what to do right now. I didn't want to run away, but I knew I shouldn't stay.

Kuroka walked up to me holding out her hand. I hesitated before grabbing it.

As she helped me up she said, "You have been asking what the meeting is, so you'll see in a minute."

I nodded, not sure what to say.

"Is it really that serious that they need to come early? They are never early, they always come right on time." She turned to the boy.

"I guess so. But even if it isn't, I guess we will find out." He replied as he shrugged.

"Kuroka, Obsidian, we're here."

Hello, thank you for those who continued to read! The original draft was completely different from this where Aaliyah met Kuroka by seeing blurs, then seeing her across the lake. Let me know if you would've preferred that version over this one.

Also I am not good at fight scenes to please tell me ways I can improve if this wasn't, "up to your standards" I guess are the words. Thank you!
