I groan, punching my alarm clock off of my nightstand to shut it up.

Why did I drink so much last night?

"You have soooo much explaining to do missy" Karman barges into my room and throws open my curtains.

"Ahhh" I shield my eyes. "Is this how you felt every weekend during college?"

"Shut up" Karman yanks the covers off of me. "What the hell were you doing last night?"

I sit up and rub my eyes and then head.

I wasn't too drunk to not remember anything. Actually I remember everything and somehow that's worse.

Sososo much worse.

"Mmmm" I stand up and walk into my bathroom. Karman is hot on my heels.

"So maybe Duke tries to contact me more than when he's drunk at night" I mumble with my head in my hands as I pee.

"Nora..." Karman sighs. I can hear the frown on her lips.

I wipe and flush the toilet before heading to the sink to wash my hands. "On the bright side I met some coworkers who are really nice and we went out for drinks after work. I wasn't planning on getting stupidly drunk but you know...Duke was blowing up my phone and they said they'd take a cab with me"

I put toothpaste on my toothbrush and start brushing my teeth.

"But you didn't come home in a cab" Karman accuses. "Your friend from the coffee shop. Your friend with an insanely deep and husky attractive voice, brought you home in an expensive ass car. Who the hell is that?"

I finish brushing my teeth, spit, and rinse my mouth.

"Funnily enough, I don't actually know his name" I chuckle looking at my sister.

"What?" she looks at me crazy.

I shrug my shoulders. "We met Monday morning when I spilled my coffee on him"

"You don't drink coffee"

"I know, I was trying to do something new and it backfired" I shake my head. "Anyway then I saw him again yesterday morning and we had a conversation and I thought he was kind of rude to be completely honest. He's also very grumpy. But he saw me outside the bar with my co-workers and demanded he take me home because apparently nightlife in Seattle is dangerous"

"He's not wrong" she sputters throwing her hands up.

"Semantics" I wave my hand in dismissal.

"So you have no idea who he is?" Karman crosses her hands over her chest. "I mean he's obviously rich"

"Why obviously?" I scrunch my nose.

"His car was expensive and he wasn't even driving it. I saw his hand when he reached over to open the door for you" she replies.

"Huh" I splash my face with water and then grab my facial cleanser. "I guess"

"Nora...you just got out of a horrible relationship and you have a dirtbag ex, do you really thing this is a good idea?"

"Do I think what's a good idea?" my eyebrows furrow in confusion as I scrub my face.

"Clearly you like this hunk of a man" she points out.

I rinse my face and pat it dry. "Who said anything about me liking him, Karm?"

"You sounded pretty comfortable with him on the phone"

"I would've been like that with anyone" I chuckle. "I was drunk"

I slather moisturizer on my face and neck while feeling my sisters glare. I sigh turning to look at her.
