"Christian!" I yell from the bathroom, trying to keep myself from jumping up and down in excitement. "Hurry! Hurry!"
There's a loud thud and then a mumbled string of curse words that I can't really hear before I see Cal running into the bathroom, wearing nothing but a pair of tight boxer briefs. His hair tussled in every direction from just waking up.
"What's wrong?" His hands are all over me and his eyes search my body frantically.
"No, nothing's wrong" I lift up my (his) shirt that I'm wearing and point to my belly. "Look"
Christian looks down at my stomach, taking in the small bump that's seemed to grow overnight. He sighs in relief, wrapping his big hands around my stomach and rubbing it. "I thought something was wrong Pumpkin, you scared me"
I'm four months now, and the time has really flown by. My stomach isn't as sensitive anymore, but there is still a decently long list of what I can't eat. On the bright side, my morning sickness is gone and things have been relatively smooth sailing.
"Isn't it exciting!" I bounce on my toes and flip around to look at his sleepy face. "I'm showing now!" Even if it's just a little bit.
"It's very exciting" Cal gives me a lazy smile. "You're doing a beautiful job growing our baby"
I throw my arms around his neck and give him a long kiss. Cal lets out a satisfied grunt before lifting me with one arm and setting me on the countertop, placing himself between my legs. His tongue dashes out and he nibbles my lip playfully which makes me laugh.
"We're going to have to make an announcement soon" Cal pulls back only slightly just to look at me.
"Are you gonna make me quit?" I tilt my head in question.
"Yes" he states bluntly like I knew he would. "I don't want you working for me much longer, and your baking is really good Pumpkin. I want you to pursue that"
"I know" I pout. "But I like working for you. It means I get to see you more, and I like riding with you to work"
"You can still come to the office to see me, I won't restrict your access" he kisses me softly. "I'll give you two more weeks"
"Okay" I sigh dramatically. "I guess I should get my baking on" I smile. I've been baking a lot more, having fun with coming up with different twists to recipes. My favorite is experimenting with different flavors that don't seem like they would go together but actually end up being a pretty tasty combination, like peanut butter and sriracha or strawberry and basil.
Cal kisses me again before sliding me off of the counter and setting me on my feet. "Those lemon and orange scones you made were really good"
"I can make some more" I beam up at him. "Maybe I can add mint to make it more fresh"
"Sounds delicious" he tucks my hair behind my ear. "I'm going to workout and then we can go get breakfast"
"Okay" I smile and watch him walk out of the bathroom before turning back to look into the full length mirror. Lifting my shirt, I run my hand over the little bump and grab my phone to take a picture of it.

"Mr. Callahan isn't available at that time" I say into the phone for what feels like the thousandth time. "I'd be happy to schedule you for a later date"
"I'm afraid Mr. Kingston needs this appointment with Mr. Callahan and this is the only time he has available" Mr. Kingston's secretary says to me with an equal amount of annoyance in her voice.
"Well if the meeting is so important then he should be more than willing to be flexible about his schedule" I snap, irritation quickly taking over. Melanie walks towards me with an eyebrow raised at what no doubt is a scowl on my face.
