In the ashes...

Mama: "ALMOST....GOT IT!"

Papa: "KEEP PUSHING DEAR, KEEP PUSHING!"

Both Mama and Papa push as Pauline rests her arm through one of the openings and watches them.

Pauline: "......It's-"

Papa: "SHUT IT!"

Mama: "WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYMORE OUT OF YOU YOUNG LADY!"

Pauline: "HEY! I AM THE MAYOR OF THIS CITY!"

Papa: "YEAH? AND WE WERE FRIENDS! TITLES DOWN MATTER TO ME WHEN YOU THREATEN MY KIDS!!!"

Pauline: "I WASN'T THREATENING THEM! I JUST WANTED TO KEEP YOU SAFE! I'M SORRY THAT THIS IS HOW IT HAS TO TURN OUT BUT-"

Papa: "Oh this isn't how it's turning out.....because once Donkey gets back from beating up your lackeys...he's going to free us! And we're going to go in to save our-"

Mama: "OH! I THINK I GOT IT!"

Papa: "OH? PUSH DEAR, PUUUUSSSSHHHHH!!"

Both of them push on the substance as it slowly rips off the wall and falls down. They then get up from it and hug each other.

They laugh as Papa turns to Pauline with a smirk. She rolls her eyes.

Papa: "See? I told you!"

Mama: "NOW! LET'S GET DONKEY AND-"

Suddenly, Donkey Kong falls down to their level with a number of empty darts in his back.

Mama: "...get our......"

Animal Control Officers rush down and surround the couple. Each of them aim their dart guns at the parents as Pauline looks at the family.

Pauline: "Sorry guys......I didn't want it to go down this way......but Brooklyn needs to be saved......"

Papa: "No......Brooklyn needs my boys......"

Mama: "YOU'RE A SICK WOMAN! YOU'RE SICK!"

Mama begins to tear up as Papa holds her.

A few officers walk up to Pauline and begin to pull on the substance. She shakes her head.

Pauline: "NO! No! Don't worry about me! Just worry about getting that....pipe covered!"

The officers nod as five of them pick up cans and begin shaking them.

Mama: "NO!"

Papa: "Easy there......easy....."

Mama pushes her face into Papa's shoulder as he caresses her hair.

The officers walk up to the pipe, but stop as soon as it begins to shake and move around.

Pauline narrows her eyes before widening them.

Pauline: "EVERYONE GET DOWN!"

Everyone ducks as pink light shoots in and the room begins to get filled up with dirt, dust, bricks, and stone as loud thuds and booms come from the pipe.

Finally, once the dust begins to settle, Mama and Papa raise their heads from the ground, having dark dirt covering them as they stare at the pipe.

It's bent and misshapen. It's broken.

One last swirl of pink light comes from the inside of it before it disappears.....and the pipe stops working.

Mama: "No....."

Mama gets up and runs over to it as Papa reaches out a hand for her.

Mama then tries to run inside of it, to push past the waist high wall of dirt as she moves further and further inside.
