~A~ Report 3
North couldn't help the frown that was covering his face, he'd been a pain in the ass all night long and his brothers knew he was in a black mood. He'd snapped at them so many times even Silas was keeping his distance. But he couldn't help himself. He was beyond worried. Between Sang being kidnapped right outside the fucking cafe and Luke off with Axel trying to find a psychopath, his nerves couldn't take much more. He roughly chopped cucumbers for the salad he was preparing. He didn't care that it was almost midnight, he couldn't sit still or he'd drive himself mad.
Victor watched North from the kitchen island, his laptop settled in front of him. He rubbed his eyes as he tried to make sense of the video in front of him. He knows that this specific camera should show someone entering the alleyway but there's nothing, not a slip in the video or a black out. It's as if he's trying to find a ghost. He leaned on his elbow and watched North prepare food, he knows that he's stress cooking. Tension frames his body and he's already yelled at everyone in the family, himself included. Victor was the only one who stayed in the kitchen with him. Keeping a secret even for a couple of hours was difficult in a family this large, not that they kept secrets in the first place.
Everyone else dispersed throughout Mr. Blackbourne's house waiting for Marc, Luke, and Axel to return from looking for this Volto character. Poor Sang, Victor thought, she didn't deserve to be kidnapped. He had already stopped at the store when he left the hospital and picked up a new laptop and phone for Sang. A rose gold MacBook and matching iPhone. First thing he did was program them both, added security, installed the communication app, and inserted his phone number into her contact book. He grudgingly added his team leads, Axel, and Raven's. He knows that she was in contact with the latter two before he even knew who she was.
A door slams shut and the sound of voices starts to become louder as his team members begin gathering in the kitchen. The unofficial meeting place of Mr. Blackbourne's home. Victor notices North's shoulders tense then release when laughter reaches the kitchen, his brother Luke's the loudest of them all.
Owen wipes at his glasses with a cloth as he listens to his family fill his house. His computer screen glares back at him, he's been attempting to write up what happened today and compare it to everything he's witnessed from Dr. Roberts and his kids. He's already four pages in and still nothing is clear. A knock at his office door has Owen putting his glasses on and standing. Opening the door he finds Axel, a gloomy expression turning his dark eyebrows down.
"The mission didn't yield many results." Axel frowns. "Some drops of blood, a few scratches on the floor, but nothing else. Whoever was there escaped and left behind very little evidence. We swapped the blood for analysis in case it isn't Sang's but even then she shouldn't come up in the system."
Owen's strength seems to sap out of him at the information, another puzzle piece but he has no idea where it goes in the grand scheme of things. "Thanks for going Mr. Toma, let's go tell our teams what we've found out." He pulls out his cellphone as they make their way to the kitchen, dialing Sean's number so he and Raven can be included in the family meeting.
"Hello." Sean's voice whispers across the line. "Is it starting?"
"Momentarily, I'm heading towards the kitchen now." Owen answers just as quietly, "Status update." Owen slows his walk and Axel stops to lean in closer to listen.
"Sang is doing good, vitals are stable. I was able to get her to drink some water and take some pain medication. Her bandages are clean and there's no irritation. She's asleep. Zane on the other hand, is not faring as well. I think we'll need to keep an eye on him to make sure he's taking care of himself and not just Sang."
Axel lets out a breath and nods his head before continuing ahead, Owen starts his tread again but asks another question. "Will Mr. Ravenstahl be joining us?"
