16 Weeks
"You look relaxed." Elodie smiles, leaning her head against Luke's shoulder as they walk up the driveway, their gift for his parents in his other hand.
"I'm not." Luke laughs, "I mean I am, but I'm also not. It's nice to be home, but I'm actually nervous to tell my family about the baby."
"Your family is going to be so excited for us Luke. Your mom is going to cry."
"I hope so." He sighs, twisting the doorknob and letting Elodie pass in front of him into the house.
"Just relax." She chuckles quietly, both of them turning as they hear some commotion.
"Welcome home!" Liz has Elodie pulled into a hug first, then turns to hug Luke too.
"Let them through the doorway, mum." Ben appears in the hallway to the kitchen, chuckling as he watches the interaction.
"Come on, dad has lunch cooking in the back." Liz ignores her oldest son, ushering Luke and Elodie towards him, the four of them heading through the back of the house and out into the yard.
"Look who finally showed up!" Jack hollers, sprawled in a lounge chair under a tree in just a pair of shorts.
"We've been busy working." Luke rolls his eyes.
"We're glad you had today off to spend with us." Andy steps away from the grill to hug them each.
"We brought you a little gift." Luke chuckles, handing the small wrapped package to his mum.
"You didn't have to do that." She waves him off, glancing down quickly as she pulls the paper away before her eyes snap back up to his as she realizes what she's holding in her hand.
"Surprise." Elodie chuckles, seeing the gloss collecting in the corners of Liz's eyes.
"Really?"
"Ya." Luke chuckles, accepting the hug she pulls him into, this one tighter than her first, and he can tell she's failing to hold back her tears. "I hope those are happy tears, mum."
"The happiest tears, I get to be a nana?" She asks softly, stepping back before pulling Elodie into a tight hug too.
"The baby will be here in September." Elodie mumbles into her ear.
"Why is mum crying?" Ben asks as he and Jack wander over when they realize no one is going to explain what just happened.
"Mum is crying?" Andy turns again from the meat he'd been watching.
"Here." Liz hands the small frame to her husband, a giddy smile on her face.
"Really?" He glances up too, emotion evident in his face.
"Really what?" Jack asks this time, Andy turning the small frame for his other two sons to see, a photo of the sonogram sits inside.
"Once again, Luke is the favorite." Ben laughs, "Congratulations, guys. I can't wait to be their favorite uncle."
"Ya, I look more like their dad, so I reckon that means they are going to like me more than you." Jack jests, pulling Elodie into a hug, "Congratulations, and I'm sorry, this means you really are stuck with this asshole for the next eighteen years. I hope you survive."
"Jack!" Liz scolds.
"I'm pretty excited to spend the next eighty years by his side, I don't think the next eighteen will be too hard." El chuckles, "And thanks. We are pretty excited about the baby."
"When should Liz and I be planning a trip to LA then?" Andy asks, a soft smile on his face.
"September, from the information we have so far I'm due about September 9th." Elodie smiles, "You're welcome to come before I'm due and stay a while, or wait and come after the baby will definitely be here. That is dependent on your schedules and your plans."
