Not just the future (Jim Crocodile Cook x reader)

Your P.O.V
We were waiting for Jesse and Axel to return with the Rainbow dragon. I turned around to see sacred beasts, Hamon, lord of thunder. I was now worried. Then lightning struck and attacked Jaden.

"Jaden!" I yelled out. I wanted to go after him but I just couldn't.

"Y/n!" I turned my head to see my cousin Jesse. I gave a relief smile.

"Jesse! You're alright! Quickly, we need to go help Jaden!" I say. He nodded and ran to Jaden. I grabbed Jim's hand and we ran to the stairs. Jesse ran up them and helped Jaden out.

"Jesse! About time." Jaden said.

"We did it Jay! We got it!" Jesse yelled out.

"Y/n! Gather everyone into the school!" Jesse said.

"You got it! Alright everyone! Let's move." I said. Alexis, Baston, Hassleberry, Jim amd I started to move everyone into the school. It wasn't easy but we managed. I placed another student down and looked at the others.

"Is that everyone?!" I asked.

"Should be. I hope the others are doing alright." Alexis replied. I nod. I then felt pain all around my body.

"Y/n!" Jim said and ran over to me.

"The sacred beasts...they have been summoned...and there's nothing I can do about it..." I said and sat down. Jim wrapped his arms around me, Shirley placed her head on my lap. I started to shake and quiver. I then noticed my skin turn an evil kind of purple.

"What's happening to me?... I don't understand..." I whispered. Jim tightened his grip on me. I leaned into his touch and tried to calm down. I then heard his heart beat, I was soothing. I closed my eyes. I then heard a loud roar.

"Armityle...Jesse, Jaden..I'm sorry... This is all my fault." I whispered.

Jim's P.O.V
Hearing Y/n whisper to herself broke my heart. Shirley was getting worried too. Y/n's body shook and her skin was turning a purple colour, ever so slowly. I had her head rest on my chest, letting her hear my heart beat. It seemed to work. She then covered her ears.

"Make this stop...I can't take it anymore..." She was panicking. I kept Y/n close to me. Then everything started to shake.

Your P.O.V
Everything started to shake. I looked out the window to see Jesse looking through it at me. I started to tear up. He smiled. I got up and ran to the window. Then a bright light hit my eyes. Jesse still had a smile on his face.

"Get back safely Y/n! Remember that you will always be my baby cousin, no matter what!!" Jesse shouted and he was gone.

"Jesse!!" Soon everything went black.

I woke up infront of the window I last saw Jesse. I sat up quickly and ran outside. I looked around and saw no Jesse. I ran around and couldn't find my cousin. I started to tear up.

"No...No. No!!" I yelled out, falling to my knees. I couldn't believe it. Jesse was gone. The only person that would make me smile. Gone.

"Jesse...why Jesse...why did you do this to me..." I whispered. I stood up and walked to the Red dorms. I opened the front doors to find Alexis, her brother Atticus, Axel, Chazz, Jim and Shirley. They looked up at me. I looked down and went to sit down. Jim moved over for me to sit down. I banged my head on the table and stayed there.

"Poor Y/n...this must be hard for her." I heard Syrus say.

"Yeah. She just walked in and put her head on the table." Axel said.

"We couldn't find him and Jaden is also missing." Hassleberry says. I teared up again and shook.

Jim's P.O.V
I glanced at Y/n, seeing her shake. I moved closer to her and wrapped my arms around her. She did the same and cried. While the others were talking I heard Y/n say something.

"Jesse....where are you when I need you?...." She said. Then Counselor Sheppard walked in.

"Why yes. And what I heard from Alexis say. I've arrived at a good time." He said. "You see, there's a reason I've had an interest in Jaden and Y/n since they both got here, sure they both were good duelist but I was most intrigued by something I heard from both their parents, that when they were both young, they both had a deep connection with the duel spirit, but Y/n, she was the same but with the sacred beasts."

"Let me guess, a spirit named Yubel." Alexis says.

"That's right. But there's more to the story than just that. You see Jaden's and Y/n's parents were rarely home because of long hours of work. So Jaden would invite various neighborhood friends over and spend all his free time duelings and then one day..." Counselor Sheppard says. Y/n moved her head and listened to my heart beat again. I smiled softly.

"She was Jaden's favorite card. The doctors ran all sorts of tests but they couldn't find no explanation for his condition medically speaking." He said.

"Wait, then you're saying that it was Yubel?" Atticus asked.

"Nobody can know for sure. But I do know each time Jaden played Yubel in his deck, bad things would always happen to his opponents. Eventually everyone in the neighborhood got spooked and refused to duel Jaden so long as he had that card." Counselor Sheppard continued.

"So then what did the Sarge go and do?" Hassleberry asked.

"Well as luck would have if Kaiba Corp was accepting card submissions during the same time. The winning designs would be shot into space and infused with special cosmic matter. Jaden submitted a design for neos which was accepted but he also convinced Kaiba Corp to send up Yubel. He loved that card so much he could never get rid of it, instead he hoped the cosmic infusion would make her safe to use. And so two satellites were sent into space, one with Yubel and the other neos. The cosmos did their thing and made Neos a great success. But Yubel on the other hand, well we're just now learning the effects. Effects that are quite troubling. But Y/n on the other hand, that's a different story." He said.

"What's Y/n's story?" Chazz asked.

"Y/n was more of an outcast then anything. Both her parents were working, barely home. But she was mostly in the hospital because of her mental state. But every birthday she had, it got worse. She would have night terrors, waking up with fear. No doctor couldn't wad able to stop it. But that's when they had the idea of having one of her relatives come and spend time with her during those times. Most of her family was over seas and couldn't come but there was one that could." Counselor Sheppard explains. "And that was Jesse Anderson. He would always come on her birthday and spend time with her for a week and then go back home. But there was one time that Y/n couldn't calm down. Her skin turned purple and whatever she touched, it would give them visions of their worst fears."

Y/n sat up and looked down. Still had her hands on her lap, fiddling with them. I grabbed her hands and held them.

"So what happened then?" Alexis asked.

"Y/n was sent home. There was nothing they could do to help her. If they continued to give her medication, she would be addicted to them and want more. So when Y/n had night terrors or panic attacks, Jesse had an idea and gave her packs of dueling cards. Thinking that would keep her mind of everything. And it worked. They would duel whenever Y/n was in that type of state. But that soon stopped when I arrived and when she came to duel academy." Counselor Sheppard finished explaining.

"But what will happen when Y/n leaves duel academy? If dueling helps her relax, who's going to help her?" Syrus asked.

"I think there's someone here that has been keeping her calm through out this year. Jim Crocodile Cook." Counselor Sheppard replys. Everyone looked at us.

"Yeah. He's always been protective of Y/n from day one. How could I miss that?" Hassleberry says. Counselor Sheppard walked over to Y/n and rested a hand on her shoulder.

"Y/n. We will get your cousin and the Sacred beasts back. I promise." He said and walked out.

"I hope so...otherwise, I'm going to find them and bring them home....No. Matter. What." Y/n said and hugged me again.

I wrapped my arms around Jim again. Closing my eyes, drifting off into a long dark slumber hoping Jesse and  the Sacred beasts are alright and how to get them home, safe and sound.
