Chapter 11- Break or Breakup?

Y/N's POV:

"Y/N can you get it together? I'm trying to go home." I'm currently at the companies dance studio practicing for my evaluation performance but for some reason, my confidence had gone downhill since Yuxin told me she wanted to quit.

She hasn't contacted me at all and it's making me nervous. I was afraid that her dad might be holding her back or making her work with him.

"You can just go. I'll stay here and practice." The manager that was assigned to me for a few days was close friends with Sooyun and he was instructed to look after me.

"I can't do that and you refuse to leave until you get it right but you're not focused."  I ignored his words and kept rehearsing. I heard him groan for the tenth time and I got annoyed.

"Seriously, just leave me alone. I can take care of myself. It's Friday. Go home." He sighed and picked up his bag and then left the room. I grabbed my phone and realized that it was almost 3 am.

Liu Yuxin would be contacting me in a few hours to tell me how things went and what her decision going to be.  I would lie if I say I'm not worried. I don't want her to give up on her dreams because she looks so happy when she's performing.

So I forced myself to take a break and tried calling her. The call failed about three times and I finally gave up. I got up to continue practicing. Why is this affecting me so much?

My phone suddenly rang and I ran to it. The caller ID was indeed Yuxin and I quickly picked up the call. "Hey, Yuxin. How are you?" I didn't hear anything for a few seconds until she took a deep breath.

"Y/N, I actually have bad news but I want to ask you, why are you still awake? it's very late. Don't tell me you were practicing."

"Yes, I was. I haven't got my performance right. What's the news?"

"Well, I was looking for a job that had to do with music or dancing but I couldn't find anything so when I told my dad he was very happy and he offered me a job in his company."

"Oh, that's actually really good. So, what's the bad news?"

"The bad news is that he already sent me on a work project and I'm currently in Korea. I won't be back until Monday."

All the worries that I had managed to push away suddenly came back.

"But that's the day we have to go to meet the mentors and other trainees. that's also the day we move in."

"I know and I'm sorry but I might have to withdraw from the show. I will support you with everything I can. I have made my decision and there's not much I can do."

I was getting upset once again still not knowing why. I wanted to cry but I held it back because I promised her I would support her in all she did as well.

"Well, I guess that's your final decision. You know I have to be honest with you. I really had hopes that you'd come back because I believe that you are going to rise up, but like I said, I will be by your side. I have to get some rest now."

"Thank you, Y/N. I will vote for you all the time and make sure you feel loved and supported."

I couldn't bring myself to hang up the call, so I build up my courage and asked her the last question.

"Are you really happy now? Just think about that." I quickly hung up the call. She tried calling me a few times but I didn't answer.

The past few days I had been talking with Mrs. Liu and she told me all about her family. Yuxin's dad used to be a music teacher and she was an opera singer.
