I really tried to make an effort to look good before I left the house. I don’t think I want to admit that I like Aiden especially after what I heard about him and what Chelsea can possibly do to me. When my dad asked where I was going I told him I was just going on a walk to the park. Technically I wasn’t lying because that’s where I was going I just didn’t tell him who I was going to see. I don’t like hiding the truth from my dad considering how close we are but when it comes to boys I want to make sure I know the guy enough before I can tell my dad about him. If I would tell my dad about a guy then he would want to meet him right away because I am his little girl after all.
As I walked toward the bench I could already see someone sitting there. I think I let my excitement get the best of me since I didn’t really take the time to look at the person sitting there before I started talking.
“You like it here don’t you?” I asked while sitting down.
Then I realized that it wasn’t Aiden who was sitting there but some older guy. He gave me this weird look and walked away. I was disappointed because I was expecting him to be there just like last time sitting there waiting for me. I guess everything can’t go the way you hope it will each time. I sat there with what probably was a sad look on my face since I was just starting to think Aiden wasn’t as bad as people labeled him to be. Then everything went dark and I couldn’t see because someone put their hands over my eyes. My back stiffened and I was trying to push back the fear that was going through my thoughts. But then I heard his annoying voice behind me and relaxed a bit. Then the fear was replaced by anger towards him that he would scare me like that.
“I’m sorry I made you upset I knew you were looking forward to seeing me.” Aiden said in a cocky voice but still didn’t take his hands off my eyes.
“What makes you think I was upset?” I asked.
“Well I decided to wait behind a tree and watch your reaction when you saw I wasn’t here yet. Then that older dude came and sat down right before I saw you walking over. I saw you say something to him thinking it was me probably and then I saw you face fall when you realized it wasn’t me.” He said sounding impressed with himself that he saw everything and let out a little chuckle towards the end.
“Ha ha very funny now can I ask why your hands are covering my eyes?”
“I was trying to scare you.” He said hesitantly.
“I’ll give you a fair warning this time that if you ever do that again don’t expect me to be nice to you.” I said as he finally took his hands off from my eyes.
I heard Aiden moving around before I was met with silence. Then I realized that I could finally open my eyes but I never got the chance because I felt someone’s moist lips on mine. I sighed on the inside. Aiden was giving me gentle kisses and when I finally responded he grabbed my face in his hands and pressed harder and rougher making the kiss more passionate.
“Or maybe I was just trying to get you ready for that.” He said breathlessly with a smile as he pulled away.
I smiled and looked him in the eyes, those amazing blue eyes, which had a dazed look in them but I couldn’t think of what to say. Like all the times before this I was speechless partly because he took my breath away, literally. He finally sat next to me and put his arm around my shoulders. I was trying to get my breathing to even out but I could tell that he was having the same problem since I could see his chest rising a bit.
“So am I finally going to get an answer or are you going to walk away again. Cuz I’m not letting you go anywhere. Tell me I’m a man I can take it.” He said with an even tone while he pulled me towards him and held on to me tightly.
“Well Aiden Campbell you are a hell of a good kisser.”
“You’re not so bad yourself.” He joked with a smirk.
“Hey!” I yelled at him while slapping him on the arm.
“Well you could let me in you know…”
I didn’t let him say anymore. I put my arms around his neck and brought him closer to me till our lips met. I had controlled most of the kiss till he bit my lip lightly causing me to gasp which gave him enough time to slip his tongue into my mouth. I let him take control for a while till I fought with his tongue for a while and slightly bit it causing him to moan a little. He put me in his lap at some point during the kiss without breaking contact and was making tiny circles on my back with his hands while I was going through his hair with my fingers.
“Mommy what are they doing?”
Aiden and I both released the kiss and turned around to see a little girl with her mother walking down the trail. She scowled at us and I felt my cheeks burn up as they turned to different shades of red when I realized the position we were in and considering how ruffled Aiden’s hair was I didn’t look any better. As the mother walked away with her child I turned to Aiden and saw that he was staring at me.
“What?” I asked him with a confused look while I brushed through my hair with my fingers and fixed my shirt.
“You know I was just kidding and I had no idea you would react that way.” He said not taking his eyes off of me.
I felt my cheeks getting warmer and I turned away from him his gaze. He took my chin and turned me back to face him. He had that gorgeous smile on and I could see the happiness in his eyes with something else but I wasn’t sure what it was though.
“You’re so cute when you blush.” He whispered as he got closer to me and gave me a quick peck on the lips.
We sat on the bench for a while just looking at the scenery and listening to each other’s breathing. We decided to take a walk through the park and talked for a bit. Then I finally got the courage to ask him what I’ve been dying to know.
“Are you and Chelsea still together?” I asked a little nervously and once I said it out loud I realized something. Isn’t it kind of too late to ask this question considering what has happened between us already? Ugh I should have asked him sooner but it was too late to take it back.
He started laughing after he thought about my question.
“What’s so funny?” I asked and gave him and annoyed look.
He stopped walking and pulled me closer to him. He recomposed himself and as he held onto my hand he said, “Chelsea and I have been over for a long time now and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.” By the seriousness in his eyes I knew he was telling me the truth and I couldn’t help but smile up at those amazing eyes.
“Promise?” I asked. I knew I was asking for a lot but it came out of mouth before I could stop it.
“I promise.” He said as he smiled back at me and kissed me on the forehead. I smiled again. “You should never stop smiling it just makes me happier every time I see you smile.” He added and I felt myself blush again. Aiden laughed a little and then we started walking back down the trail.
When we got back to the bench I stood up on toes and gave him a small goodbye kiss on the lips before I turned around and walked toward the sidewalk. It's as if I could feel the kiss all the way down to my toes even though it was just a quick peck. I turned back around before I turned the corner I saw Aiden standing in the same spot as I had left him watching me as I walked away and I couldn't help but smile at him which he returned with the smile I've come to love. When I got home and decided to spend the rest of the day being lazy on the couch and watched TV. I was paying attention more to my thoughts then to what was going on in the show. I was thinking about Aiden and what happened today and I couldn’t help but wonder the same question I had asked him the day before. He hadn’t asked me to be his girlfriend so what exactly does that make us and what is it that we have?
