Chapter 12: Its Forbidden

Chapter 12:

"Someone's a little too happy today." My mom said in an amused tone as I skipped down the stairs humming. I just giggled and smiled widely.
Last night's events replayed in my head once again. After my party, when I went to sleep all I could think of was him. It was so magical. With him I felt so different and free. He is going to be the death of me. I shook my head as I thought that.

I opened the refrigerator and took out some milk, a glass from the cabinet and sat down near the centre table.

"May I ask why?"

"Nothing. Don't I have a right to be happy?"

"Sure you do honey. But I have a guess as to why you are more happy than usual."

"Okay. Go ahead."

"You-"

The doorbell rang and cut off my mother while she was speaking.

"I'll get that." My mom said. She walked to the door and opened it.

"My guess exactly." She said as she pointed towards the person standing on our front porch. I walked to the front porch and saw Tyler standing.

"Uh mom. You can go now."

"Oh no honey. You have to introduce us."

"Okay. Tyler, mom. Mom, Tyler." I said by pointing my fingers at both of them."Now, we have to go."

"Sis, there's like half an hour for school to start. Wait a while."

I glared at Ryan for doing this. My mother was going to embarrass me big time.

"Oh that's great. Tyler, tell me about yourself."

I groaned and face palmed myself. What did I do to deserve this?

"You know-" I had to stop her before she spilled some of my childhood stories. She was going to embarrass me. I could feel it.

"Okay mom. That's fine. We'll talk later." I said while grabbing Tyler's arm. I dragged him outside and shut the door behind me.

"Too eager to get me alone, aren't you?" And his comments were back. For some reason I actually missed them.

"Oh shut up." I hit him playfully on his arm. Both of us went to his car and stepped inside.

Once we reached school, we got out of the car. Tyler immediately clasped his hand in mine. I looked up at him confused.

"Your mine." He said. Those two simple words warmed my heart and gave rise to a beautiful feeling inside of me. I smiled at him and gave his hand a light squeeze.

"Yes I am."

Both of us walked towards the school gates hand in hand. I was no longer worried what other people would have to say about this. I was content with him and what he thinks. I was happy.

We walked through the hallway which, for some reason, was empty. I reached my locker and took out my books. Tyler was going to say something when I heard a demanding voice call me. I turned back and saw Kira.

"Oh hey Kira." I went forwards to hug her but she stopped me with her hand. I looked at her, trying to understand what she was doing. She was looking very serious and I'm pretty sure she was going to scream at someone. Well, poor them.

"You. How dare you?" Okay well, it seemed the person she's going to scream at was me. So poor me. Oh god.

"What have I done?" I asked defensively.

"What have you done? You're going around with this dude!" She said while pointing to Tyler.

"Uh yes I am." I said, unsure of what I should say.

"How can you? Why are you?"

"What are you saying Kira?"

"You know you're not allowed to go out with geeks."

"Excuse me? First thing, don't call him that and second, since when did you control me?"

"Oh please. Give it a rest. Why are you going out with him? He has a good body? No, you're seducing him so you can cheat off of all his exams. No, better you-"

"Stop. What is wrong with you Kira? Are you out of your mind? I like him. That's why I'm going out with him." I exclaimed.

"Well then again you're not allowed. Don't ask me what I mean or I don't have the rights to tell you that, okay? You're a part of the popular group. So either stay in it or out. You go out with him means you're out and if you don't you're in. Choose." She said. I couldn't believe my own best friend was saying this to me. I looked at her clearly taken a back and feeling betrayed.

"I choose Tyler, okay? You can't kick me out. I'm a part of it. Not because of you but because of me. So you can just go and rain over someone else parade, bitch." I said while walking away.

"I'll do what I want!"I screamed down the empty hallways.

She turned on her heel and walked to me looking at me in the eye" But aren't you forgetting something......Its forbidden."

"I get it okay. I'm not allowed. It's forbidden. But aren't you forgetting something? I don't give a shit anymore." With that, i grabbed Tyler and walked out of there. God, she made me want to kill someone.

"Babe, are you okay?"

"Yeah." I sighed and walked over to him and hugged him. I melted into his arms and loved the feeling of his arms around me. I smiled into his chest. I was so happy I had him.

We were in the library. No one really comes here at this time so we decided to sit here for a while.

"Prom is a month away." I muttered.

"Yeah. Oh I almost forgot. Will you go to prom with me?" As he said this he presented a rose. I smiled and gladly accepted it.

"Yes." The grin on my face was literally stuck to my face now. I couldn't feel happier.

I lied back down in his arms and closed my eyes.

"Where do you plan on going to college?"He asked. I opened my eyes and looked up at him.

"I really don't know right now. I've applied to a few colleges but I'm not sure which one I'll get selected in." I said. "You?"

"I'm not sure either. I've sent in applications. I still have to hear from them though."

"I'm sure you'll get into the one you want to." I said.

"Yeah? Well, I think so that you will too."

"You think so?"

"No I know so." I chuckled slightly and closed my eyes once again to save this moment for a rainy day.
