Chapter 2:

I opened my eyes to someone nudging me. I saw that the geek from earlier was sitting beside me and was pointing towards the black board. I looked to where he was pointing and saw my math teacher standing over there with a disappointing look on his face. I immediately took out my earplugs from my ears and stuffed it into my bag. I gave my teacher an apologetic smile and muttered a quick 'sorry' and looked down at my lap. The teacher shook his head and walked back to his desk and continued with his lesson.

"Okay class, we have started trigonometry last class so I would like you to take out your math workbooks and open to page 74. Please start this exercise on trigonometry and I want you to complete at least 10 questions in these 40 minutes."

Easy, I thought. I would be done in 15 minutes. I have no idea why he gives us so much time for 10 questions.

After about 15 minutes, I was done with all the 10 questions he had given us. I raised my hand so I could inform my teacher that I was done.

"Yes, Selena?"

"I'm done."

"That fast?"

He seemed surprised and so did others in my class.

"What?" Yes I love attention, but you don't need to stare at me as if I've grown three heads. Maths as a whole isn't my strong suit but trigonometry was very easy. I don't understand how people don't get it.

"Nothing, Selena. I think you should submit it so I can check it for you." Mr. T, my math teacher said. We call him Mr. T because his name is very long and no one has the time to actually say it.

I walked up to the front of the class and placed my paper on his desk. I stood there waiting for him to finish checking the paper. He was checking my paper with a small smile playing on his lips.

"Well dear you are very smart in trigonometry. Can I please have a word with you outside?" I nodded and followed him outside class.

"You are very bright and score well in trigonometry. I would like you to tutor one of the kids in your class. He is currently failing maths and needs a lot of help in trigonometry. Will you please help this child?"

I wondered if it would be worth my time? Should I even try? What if the child is hopeless and can't pass at all? He must've seen my thoughtful expression as what he said next made me want to tutor any kid in the world.

"You know I have access to your grades. I might increase your average in all your subjects..."He looked at me with a hopeful expression. I thought for a while thinking if should take this opportunity. My average in all subjects was not exactly valedictorian material nor was it failing material but it wouldn't hurt to get my marks increased by helping a hopeless, failing child.

"Okay I'll do it."

"Good. His name is Tyler Greene. He is in your class as I have already told you. I have already spoken to him about this so he knows you're going to tutor him-"

"Wait, how did you know I was going to tutor him for sure?"

"I knew you would fall for the 'increasing the grades' part."

"Excuse me. I am doing this because I am such a good person and I care about the people in my class. The 'increasing the grades' part is just a bonus."

"Whatever you say. Now you will tutor him from 5 to 8 pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Okay?"

"No the last part is not okay with me. Fridays is my partying day. How about we keep it on Sunday?"

"Why not Saturday?"

"Uh hello...Hangover!"

"Of course, so Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays from 5 to 8 pm."He said with a sigh."And also he will be at your house tomorrow since its Wednesday."

"Sure. Just be sure to increase my grades."I said with a smile and skipped back to class. I think it would be one of the popular hotties because which geek fails? Ohhh what if it's Blake? He is so yummy. I giggled thinking about that.

I went back to my seat and picked up my bag and was about to leave until Mr. I can't shut my mouth because I'm a loser plus geek decided to make one of his smart ass comments.

"Hey you showed me your ass last time, why don't you show me something else this time?"

I turned around and glared at him.

"Oh look someone's trying to act like a smartass."

"Selena I'm not a smartass...your just a dumbass."

Ughhh! The nerve of that guy.

"You freaking retard!"

"Aww the poor baby won't swear?"

"What is your problem in life?"

"You."

"What are you? In kindergarten?"

"Hmm now you don't even know how to tell someone's age...That's sad"

"Whatever I'm leaving."

"Sure. Bye babe."

What a freak! And I thought he was hot. He is but his mouth sure doesn't suit him.

It was the end of the day but I decided to not wait for Drew. He was really annoying me these days. I don't even like him. I got into my car and headed home. Tomorrow I would get to know who it was I was tutoring.
