Chapter 17: A Night To Remember

Chapter 17:

I straightened the wrinkles on my dress and felt through the fine fabric one last time before we had to leave for Prom. I was so excited; I could still feel tingles in my bones. Tyler and I had finally gotten back together and I was extremely happy.

 I looked at myself in the mirror one more time and smiled softly. I was wearing a sleeveless dark blue dress. It was slim at the stomach and flowed till the bottom and reached my feet. The top part of the dress, near my chest was again net and had beautiful designs on it. It was simple but I liked it. It resembled my mother's when she went to high school. I had my hair in a fancy bun, with a few strands of my hair framing my face. I had left my make up mostly natural, blue-purple eye shadow on my eyes, eyeliner, mascara and a touch of blush with a pink stroke of lip gloss for my lips.

I heard the doorbell ring, letting me know that Tyler must have arrived. I slipped on my heels, not wanting my mother to engage in any type of conversation with Tyler.

I descended the stairs, slowly making sure that I don't trip and fall. As I reached the bottom of the stairs, both my mother and Tyler turned towards me.

"Oh honey, you look so beautiful. I'm going to go get my camera, wait here." She said excitedly.

I looked at Tyler and his mouth was hanging open. Okay not literally, but I have the right to exaggerate for this. I looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to say something.

"You...look um." I raised my eyebrows at this. Seriously? Is this how he's going to act the whole time?

"You look gorgeous." He finally spitted it out. I smiled and walked towards him and intertwined his hand with mine. "So do you. I mean handsome of course." He was wearing a tuxedo and can I say he looked sexy.

He chuckled lightly and that gave rise to a new set of butterflies. I smiled at him and was about to kiss him when I heard a snap. I turned around and found my mom clicking pictures of us. I guess I could allow her to do this. After all, it was Prom. Tyler and I posed for a few pictures and then decided to leave.

We walked outside, to my front porch and saw a limousine. I obviously expected a limousine but this one was beautiful. He had actually gone further than other people and had it decorated. I looked at in awe when suddenly he came behind me and whispered, "Wouldn't want us to get late, right?" in my ear. I nodded and he opened the door for me and I got in. He ran to the other side and got in as well.

"Oh I forgot to give this to you." He said as he took out a beautiful corsage. It was made out of many tiny light pink roses. My heart warmed and I gave him a small smile to say thank you.

Usually our school told us to have dinner first and then come to Prom but this time they had organized some food in school itself.

Once we reached school, we entered the gym. Our school gym looked prettier than before, obviously. Lights were hanging from all the corners and it was decorated with flowers.

I spotted Kira, Sasha and Tasha. I walked towards them with Tyler trailing behind. I went to hug Kira and had to hug Sasha and Tasha.

Sasha was wearing a sky blue dress which had a silver beaded strap over the right shoulder. It showed off her left leg and I'm afraid she looked hot.

Tasha was wearing a tiffany blue sleeveless dress which flowed to her feet. On the chest part, there were designs made and above it was net material. It really reminded me of the sea and it was purely stunning.

Kira's dress was a strapless pink dress. The upper part was beaded with silver jewels and the lower part was formed into ruffles and placed on the left side. It was gorgeous and went perfectly with her blonde hair.
