PRINCE AEMOND TARGARYEN sat in a chair in his mother's chambers right in front of her table, feeling like a prisoner awaiting his sentence. He had his signature scowl on his face and looked around in an attempt to distract himself, studying the embroidered gold patterns on the green cushions, books on the shelves and pictures on the walls that created the light penetrating through the thick green curtains.
There was grave silence in the room until a crunch was heard and Aemond's nose scrunched up as he narrowed his eyes at the boy on the chair next to him.
Aegon took a bite of the cookie he took from the plate and looked uncertainly at Aemond when he noticed his glare. He continued to chew more slowly as if to silence the sounds, but the only thing he achieved was the same noise which lasted longer and Aemond's deadly glare deepening with each second.
He hesitantly offered me a plate of cookies with raised eyebrows. Aemond rolled his eyes and looked away, his fingers tapping impatiently on the surface of his chair.
Aegon shrugged and popped another cookie into his mouth as he turned to the person on his right. "Aemma?"
A young girl in a white dress looked at him and her eyes lit up with childlike joy when she saw the cookies. She took two cookies straight away and smiled at her oldest uncle, who gave her a nod back even though he was glad that finally someone was not glaring at him.
Aemma bit into one of the cookies as she looked thoughtfully around the room, ignoring the glare of the boy who leaned forward to look at her.
"Could you stop chewing so loudly?" Aemond snapped at both Aegon and Aemma. Aegon raised an unbothered eyebrow but swallowed the cookie and stopped.
On the other hand, Aemma continued to chew as if she was trying to chew even louder than before.
Aegon looked amused from his younger brother's cold glare to his niece, who looked out of the corner of her eye at Aemond, and when she saw how pissed he was, her lips lifted into a tiny smirk before she looked forward again.
Aemond looked like he was ready to kill her when the door opened and all three children jumped as Alicent walked in with Criston Cole right behind her. Alicent's long auburn hair that fell in waves down her back was practically blowing behind her as she walked over to her table and looked at thr two books that were placed there -- one covered in ink and the other burnt.
She let out a deep sigh before looking at the three of them. "You three again? What did you do this time?"
"She was the one who started it!" Aemond exclaimed as he pointed his finger on Aemma.
Her eyes narrowed at him. "Me? How did I start it?"
"You are the one who spilled ink on my book! Only because you are jealous that I got more points for answering about Targaryen history than you."
"If you didn't shove it in everyone's face, no one would do anything. Still not reason enough to burn my book!"
"You could simply accept that I know more about dragons than you do."
"Well, at least I have a dragon," Aemma replied coldly as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked in front of her determinedly.
