"WHAT DO YOU mean you won't help me?" Aemma's eyes narrowed at Jace and the fork in her hand slammed instead of the cake into the plate with a loud clink.

Luke visibly flinched at the sound and Jace let out a tired sigh as he nervously looked away. "Look, Aemma, I know you've got a lot going on right now, but try to understand that Luke and I just aren't very skilled at these things--"

"Neither am I!" Aemma snapped at him. "Which is exactly why I wanted your help."

"But we won't help you at all. We know nothing about the dress, nothing about the decoration or the program at the wedding," Jace tried to reason with her, his calm voice the opposite of Aemma's blazing anger.

"And do you think I do?" Aemma asked him slowly which seemed even more terrifying and Luke couldn't help but look away.

"I just think you should ask someone else for help. Mother would help you," Jace said.

Aemma's eyes hardened even more at the thought of letting Rhaenyra pick anything for her wedding. She was sure that the result would be disastrous as Rhaenyra tried very hard to make the Starks happy and at the same time make it the best day of Aemma's life despite knowing how much Aemma despised the whole thing.

"Mother's busy," Aemma immediately dismissed the idea.

"How do you know that? Did you ask her?" Jace quirked an eyebrow.

Aemma pursed her lips and gave him a sarcastic smile. "No, because I naively thought that my brothers would help me."

Luke looked down at his hands almost disappointed while Jace's eyes flashed with guilt, but continued nonetheless, "What about Baela and Rhaena?"

"You forget that Baela and Rhaena are busy with their own weddings," Aemma scoffed and Luke's head snapped up.

"Their own weddings?" he repeated in disbelief. "B-but mother said that I don't have to get married before I turn 15!"

"She is not the one who insists on starting the preparations as soon as possible," Aemma retorted dryly as her eyes wandered towards the older woman who was sitting close to Rhaenyra, the two of them talking about something as Aemma glared at Rhaenys.

A viper glaring at a viper.

Luke for a small moment seemed almost horrified at the thought of marriage more than before and he gulped before looking away from Rhaenys and his mother and back to his sister. "Gwyn would help you."

Aemma's eyes teared from the pair of Targaryen women before she raised her eyebrows at Luke who reddened slightly under her suspicious gaze. "Yes, you are right about that. Gwyn would help me, and Gwyn does help me. However, she has a lot of work to do and I don't want to add another one."

"Did you try to ask some ladies from the court for help?" Jace offered again and this time Aemma turned to him even sharper than before.

"You seriously suggest anyone to get rid of your responsibilities, won't you?" Aemma asked him in disbelief.

"I have no obligations in this subject. It's your wedding," Jace reminded her sharply, his anger matching hers now.

"A wedding I don't want!" Aemma whispered angrily.

Luke nervously looked between his siblings and Jace looked around the room to make sure nobody heard them. "Keep your voice quiet--"

"It's not like everybody doesn't know," Aemma scoffed.

"Rhaena and Ben don't. You could think of them too," Jace told her scoldingly.

But I already am thinking of everyone else!
