Mckenna pov

We had met Mal in the kitchen and saw that she had already gotten the cookie dough already mixed together.

So how did it go? Mal asked

It went well we should get the results either tomorrow or the next day I said as Mal nodded

Mckenna why did you get tested? I already told you who dad was. Mal said

I wanted to be sure. I mean when mom talks about dad he always said he was weak and spineless. If dad is who you say he is then the math ain't mathing like it should. I said

Or mom is just saying she's better then him Mal said

Whatever I've already done the test it's not gonna hurt anything and if you are right then fine. I said

So is the cookie dough ready? Evie said

Not quite. It says that we still need one tear, and I never cry. Mal said

Neither do I. I said

Let's just chop up some onions. Jay said

No. It Says that we need one tear of human sadness. And this love potion gets the best reviews so we have to follow it exactly. Mal said

It had reviews? I asked

Mom left little notes and this one has less complaints Mal said

A tear's a tear. Jay said

That's not true, Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear. Evie said sounding like the female Albert Einstein

Look at you being a smart. I said giving her a nudge as she smiled

Yeah I knew that. Jay said

Did not. Carlos said

Did so Jay said as Lonnie walked in with Audrey

"There you are, McKenna! I was looking for you. You know, all the girls want you to do their hair!" Lonnie said as Audrey noticed what we were doing

What are you guys doing in here anyway? It's past curfew. Audrey said

We are making cookies. We got hungry. I said as Lonnie dipped her finger in to taste it

We didn't make a big deal about it since the spell wasn't completed

It could use some chips. Lonnie said

Chips? I asked

And those are... Mal said looking at Lonnie wanting her to explain herself

"Chocolate chips. Just the most important food group. Wait, didn't your moms ever make you guys, like, chocolate chip cookies? Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and..." Lonnie said as she took in our facial expressions "why are you all looking at me like that?"

It's just different where we're from. I said

Yeah, I know. I just, you know, I thought... Even villains love their kids. Oh... How awful. Lonnie said  as she started to cry

I watched as one of her tear fell into the bowl

Yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to get these into the oven, so thank you so much for coming by. Really, really have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow. Evil dreams. Mal said

Mckenna remember we have the game tomorrow so make sure you get to bed and go to sleep. I do not need you ruining my routine because your not well rested Audrey said
