"Vote for London DiVincenzo, a vote for London DiVincenzo is a vote for change for the better!" Canon said as he, Avery, Kiyan, and Jelena helped me pass out flyers for my campaign.

"I ain't know you was doing your campaign pass out today..." Mikey's familiar voice said from behind me.

"Jesus Christ on a motorbike..." Jelena and Canon groaned, face palming themselves.

We all turned around and came face to face with Bronny, Mikey, and Jada. Bronny was kind of staring off into space while also looking as if he was looking for something or someone, while Jada's glare was dead-set on me as Mikey looked down at me with guilt all over his face.

"I thought it was next week..." He continued, giving me a confused expression.

I nodded and held my flyers against my chest as if they were supposed to protect me or something. "Yeah, no, it's today...but of course, you wouldn't know that because you never answered my texts—."

"Well, he was clearly doing something more important than worrying about your dumb campaign," Jada said with a short laugh. "I mean come on, Lolo. You hoop, that's all you're good for. Stick to hooping, because nobody is taking this campaign seriously."

"Jada shut up." Bronny snapped, glaring at her. "You wouldn't even be giving her a hard time right now if Mikey ain't want her."

Jesus.

Avery smirked and nodded her head. "Exactly, and the crazy part is, she's completely unbothered by you. You're literally beefing with yourself."

"I...I can still help you if you want?" Mikey offered, setting his backpack down.

"Our parents don't want you around us..." Jelena blurted out, narrowing her eyes at Mikey. "Plus, you did my cousin wild, so I don't really like you right now."

Jada scoffed. "Your parents are so sensitive. Kids our age get arrested all the time. It's normal."

"No. It's not," Canon said. "Stupid kids our age throw their lives away...not smart kids who have a whole future ahead of them, like Mikey did."

"And Jada, stop acting like your parents are just letting this shit slide," Avery said. "You're sneaking around with Mikey. Your mom doesn't want you around him either."

"Can y'all shut the hell up." Mikey snapped, glaring at Jada and Avery, who gave him wide-eyed shocked glances. "I just want to talk to London."

Canon sighed and crossed his arms. "Did you not hear us say that we're not supposed to be around you or speaking to you?"

"Look," Mikey huffed. "I get it. But, your parents aren't here right now, okay? I just want to talk. That's all."

Giving in, I handed Canon the flyers that were in my hand and motioned for Mikey to follow me down the hall, a good distance away from my cousins and our friends. We stopped in front of a set of lockers and I crossed my arms across my chest and shrugged, giving him a nonchalant stare.

"You have five minutes," I told him. "Talk."

Mikey held onto the straps of his backpack and gave me a hurt expression, that almost made me feel guilty about how I was pushing him away. "So...this is how it's gonna be between you and me now?"

"Mikey you made it this—."

"Yeah, I know I made it like this. I fucked up, I completely understand that, but...but doesn't everyone get a second chance? I mean, I made one mistake." He stammered.
