~ LANDON LEE DIVINCENZO ~

Normal families have family gatherings because they miss each other, or want to be around each other, or even because they want to do normal stuff like a game night or family karaoke. Unfortunately, that is not how my family works. We're around each other twenty-four-seven, and granted, we do have some fun and memorable times together, but our family reunions always end up in some crazy drama-filled argument where secrets are revealed, and feelings that we've been holding back come out into the open.

Usually, it's us kids that always have to get something off of our chests or are the cause of these family meetings, but this morning, when we walked into Aunt Angel and Uncle JP's house and saw our entire family sitting in the living room, we knew that something was completely and utterly wrong amongst the adults because each and every one of them looked peeved, and on top of that, there was a guy here...I recognized him a little too well. I think his name was Lester...but I wasn't so sure, all I knew of the guy was that he used to be Auntie Amour's boyfriend before Jayson came around.

So weird that he was here. I hadn't seen him since I was a baby.

"I would just like to say, that it is ten in the morning," Deuce grumbled, resting his head on Auntie Amour's shoulder. "And it is Saturday! Why are we having a family meeting with the whole family at ten o'clock on a SATURDAY!"

Aunt Angel shrugged. "Beats me. I was just told to host because Esh and Steph, and Juan and Asia were sick of hosting them at their houses."

Uncle JP nodded and grinned. "So, whats first on the ducat?" he asks, running his hands down his waves that he's still managed to maintain after all these years.

The silence in the room was deafening. All of us kids were just huddled up, looking from our phones to the adults. You could cut the tension with a knife–you know, one of those knives where they put them over a flame and start cutting stuff? Yeah, that kind of knife, which meant the tension was thick! Honestly, I had seen my mother upset, but I had never really seen my father upset, and he was...well, he was as red as a tomato and that told me more than enough.

This was about to be a wild ride...I wonder where Asia keeps her camera..?

"Well, for starters," Jayson said. His voice was full of nothing but irritation and, maybe even a hint of jealousy as he glared over at Lester. "I wanna know why this motherfucker is here."

Lester chuckled and shrugged, leaning back into the couch. "What's wrong, Jayson? Scared that Amour's gonna run back to me or something?" Lester taunts.

Bad idea.

"I'm slow, but not that slow.." Auntie Amour muttered to herself as she looked down at her phone with a look of annoyance.

Steph sat up and glanced over at Les in confusion. "Yeah, uh...why is he here? We haven't seen him in what? Sixteen, seventeen years?" he asks.

Auntie Asia nodded her head in agreement. "I'm with Deacon Wardell on this one. Why is Lizard Eyes here?"

"Asia Toscano-Anderson," Lester said with a tight, sarcastic smile. "Always a ... pleasure to see you."

Auntie Asia flipped Lester off and mocked his tight smile. "Lester Lizard Eyes Quinones. I still hate you."

"The feeling is mutual." Lester quickly replied, earning an eye roll from my aunt. "But, really, why am I here?" he added.

"You're here because you got into it with me and Rini at the hospital when London was there to get her knee brace." Dad snapped, taking everyone by surprise. "You came at my wife wrong and not to mention, you came out of your own mouth talking shit about my sister."
