cheong-san stared at hae-yi from the other side of the room.

" you won't turn, i won't let you."

hae-yi sat in the corner of the broadcasting room, her knees tucked up to her chest as she hugged i-sak's pillow. the group had managed to turn the recording room into a temporary bathroom, and now had decided to stay the night and rest. nam-ra lay asleep with her head resting on the table in front of her, ji-min and hyo-ryung doing the same beside her. cheong-san and gyeong-su sat on the floor by the door, while dae-su, joon-yeong and wu-jin lay curled up together near the recording room. su-hyeok occupied the spot next to them, using his blazer as a blanket whilst he leaned on the cupboard behind him.

however, hae-yi was finding it impossible to sleep. she was constantly fighting her eyelids as they tried to close, but she stayed awake due to her nerves. what if something bad happened to one of her classmates while she was asleep?

hae-yi's eyes drifted over to gyeong-su and cheong-san when she heard gyeong-su begin to whisper something to his friend. just as hae-yi was about to look away seeing as it was none of her business what they were talking about, gyeong-su pointed over to where she was sat on the opposite side of the room. cheong-san looked over to hae-yi. he could tell she was fighting herself to stay awake, and he quietly stood up and sat down next to her.

she looked over to cheong-san, confused why he had suddenly moved away from cheong-san to be beside her.

" go to sleep." he whispered to her, " nothing bad will happen, i promise."

hae-yi studied his face as he spoke, before deciding it was best to just rest seeing as they needed energy for the next day. hesitantly, hae-yi moved her head to rest it on cheong-san's shoulder. he tensed up, shocked by her sudden action, but he soon relaxed when he heard her breathing become deeper and he realised she was fast asleep. he looked over at the sleeping girl, and a small smile grew on his lips.

he looked over to gyeong-su, who wiggled his eyebrows and smirked knowingly at cheong-san, who rolled his eyes and looked away. slowly, cheong-san moved his head to rest on top of hae-yi's and soon fell asleep.

...

day time came around quickly for hae-yi. the sun was rising as she looked around at her classmates sleeping peacefully. it was completely silent, apart from the sound of su-hyeok's slight snores.

hae-yi took this time to be alone with her thoughts.

she wondered where her father was, she really thought he would have come and saved her by now. perhaps he was a zombie. hae-yi knew better than to keep her hopes up for him being alive, and also her hopes for coming out of this alive.

her ears began to ring as her vision went fuzzy again. was she finally turning?

hae-yi moved her head slightly to face cheong-san, looking at his neck as he slept. her head began to throb as she heard a voice in her head start to speak.

' bite him. bite him.' the voice repeated. ' it's okay, give in and bite him.'

hae-yi widened her eyes as she came to her senses and looked away from cheong-san, lifting her head off his shoulder, standing up and walking over to the window.
