7: Nightmare Manor

I eventually found myself walking back to where I first came from. The hollow tree with furniture inside. I walk on the spiky vines that lead to the tree, and looked inside. There was Snatcher, reading some book while on a couch. So this was where he lived. I walked out. I suddenly saw something green. I look back towards the direction I saw the green, but it was too far to see. I climbed over the fence to see what it was. Walking closer, I could tell it was my ship. I ran over, to see the damage. It probably was unfixable. There were parts all over the place.

All because of that damn asteroid. Well, I guess I'd have to get rid of this... somehow. I could just bury it... but that would take a while. It was the only thing I could think of other than dragging it somewhere else. Luckily when it crashed it created a crater, so all I had to do was bury it with dirt.

A while later, it was mostly covered up. I walked back over to Snatcher's tree and kneeled down, dipping my dirt covered hands in the water to wash it off. I had dirt on me too, but I'll change them later. I take the contract out of my backpack, but the last box wasn't checked.

I wasn't going to drag all of that to the sea or something. Snatcher probably won't even see it, so why wasn't it checked? I checked my backpack to see if I had anything to write with. Luckily I thought of bringing a pencil back then. I used it to check off the last box. Then, "COMPLETE" magically wrote on the contract. I guess it's time to show Snatcher. I walked back into his house. I walked in front of him, and he didn't notice me until I cleared my throat to get his attention.

"I finished your contract. So since I finished it, can I have my soul back and leave?" I said.

He set his book down on the armrest of the chair. He took the contract from me.

"Ha, you didn't think you'd get your soul back because you completed your FIRST contract, did you?" He took out another paper out of nowhere, grabbed a quill out of nowhere, and wrote something on it.

He gave me the paper.

"Why do I have to do another one?" I ask.

"Because I have other things I need you to do," he says.

"Can I at least do this TOMORROW...?"

He placed his hands on his chin and looked up, in thought.

"No," he replied with a grin.

"What- why!?"

"Because I said so. Now sign it."

I signed the paper, and he stamps it as usual.

"Alright, now get to it, kid," He immediately grabbed his book and got back to reading.

"Can't I at least get a break?" I ask.
