"I love you, be careful ok?" she stands in the doorway of out 2 story home in a light pink silk nightgown. I kiss her once more before exiting our driveway. I hear the door shut and all lights go blank. The train station is only a 2 minute walk and i have a ticket for 1st class so i'll rest good for the 8 hours to 13.

I step into the quarters of D13 and it's nicer than expected. It's dim, and quiet. "Cato!" a feminine voice calls, i turn around and i see Katniss. "ah Katniss, pleased to see you again" i shake her hand and they're smooth yet calloused, "no Clove?" she looks behind me for her "nope, we're expecting again so she's staying home!" she nods her head "right she told me over the phone" she grabs my hand "let's go! the aircraft is waiting! you can change in there!" she drags me through the halls into a gated area.
A hovercraft sits in a triangle sort of thing with 'steps' extended outwards. "When we get on you can change then meet everyone then... mission starts." i pause for a second. "Katniss." she stops and looks behind her body "i'm gonna make it out here alive right? i've got a fiancé and 2 kids waiting for me at home. i can't do this without knowing i'll get back safely." she sighs "you'll get back safely. IF everything goes according to plan." i shake my head "you better know what your doing" i say as we both start walking again.
"when do i not?" shes says sarcastically. As we walk into the ship i see everyone getting strapped in but i'm directed to a small room. "just come back here when your ready." she hands me a heavy black bag thing. I nod before stepping into the room. The bag contains: (i can't really explain so ur getting a picture🤡)

"Alright everyone, thank you for joining us,, this is Cato Hadley, D2 winner of the 74th hunger games." a girl with half her hair shaved off raises her hand "Weren't there two winners? his girlfriend? Clove was her name?" i nod "she's pregnant again so she won't be attending." i say with a sigh "Alright, this is Cressida, Pollux, Boggs, the twins, and you of course know Finnick" she points to an empty spot "God dammit where did he go?!" she exclaims "i'm right here gosh, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.." he giggles as he sits in his assigned spot
"alright let's get this show on the road.."

"alright form here where do we go? those things are planted all around the city!" Finnick exclaims, "hey are they supposed to be here..." a black truck pulls in front of us. Two men step to the side as another opens the back door. "get ready for anything..." i raise my gun to my chest, waiting for an attack. Instead a guy waddles over to us. Gale raises his gun; he met us here since he was in D4. "Peeta." Katniss says under her breath. I raise my gun to him, i heard that he has these explosive episodes. Once mine is raised so is everyone else's; everyone but Finnicks.
"Whoa whoa whoa!" he steps in between us "my name is peeta mellark i'm from District 12." he repeats that under his breath. Like he's a broken record. "uh big lady! just cuff him!" he exclaims. A lady steps forward, i can't really remember her name. "soldier this is just a precaution. we're gonna get everything straightened out yeah?" he nods slowly, his eyes stay on his feet "my names Peeta Mellark, i'm from District 12." i lean to Katniss whom still has her bow raised "whys he repeating like that?"
she shrugs. "beats me." she grabs Boggs by the shoulder "whys he repeating?" he looks to her "the Capitol told his a bunch of stuff about you, a lot of stuff that's not real. For instance; your out to get him and slit his throat open, so to prevent any outbursts we had him repeat what he knows is real, like his name and district." her face softens. "he'll he ok right?" she says, her eyes lock with his "he should be. now let's roll out! we don't have all day people!"
Boggs swings around and we walk for about an hour before we reach steps. "stay behind me." he has a tracker sort of thing in his hand and it beeps as we get closer to the alleyway sort of thing. "stop. split take cover. i go on the side with Peeta, Boggs, Finnick, and the twins. The rest are on the other side. "Stay back" he picks up a rock before tossing it. Instantly a bunch of bullets are being shot out of the walls. I cover my ears as the loud sound pierces my ears. The bullets pile out for around 30 seconds before i see Finnick lean forward.
A grin is painted on his face. "they really want to kill us out here!" he exclaims. Boggs, and two other guys walk through the alleyway slowly. Peeta bangs his head relentlessly on his gun arm. He's whispering something completely incoherent. I can tell he's having the urge to do something; but he's strong enough to not. An explosion goes off. "Boggs!" Katniss screams, from our position i grab Peeta and run to where the explosion came from.
2 dead, one badly injured. Boggs has Katniss say her name into his tracker thing which switches commands to her. "Katniss, don't trust them.. kill Peeta if you have to,, do what you came to do." are the last words that come out of his mouth. Everyone stares blankly at her. "what now?" i ask. She looks up at me "we keep going. for him." she looks at him once more before signaling for everyone else to follow.
One of the twins must have stepped on something, because soon enough a wave of black tar is released after us. "RUN!" i scream, i grab Peeta who's spaced off and make a dash for the opposite side. The tar spreads like a disease, fast. Once Peeta starts to run himself i speed next to Katniss. By the time we almost reach a building i see Peeta grab Katniss and almost gash his gun into her head. "shit Peeta!" someone tackles him just in time. Peeta being a bit stronger, pushes him into the wave.
He's strung up by something and slowly ripped apart. Finnick wraps his arm around his neck and drags him into the building. "QUICK EVERYONE IN!" Cressida commands. Finnick is the first in since he has Peeta in a tight grasp. He struggles in his arms all the way up the stairs. "Peeta! Stop struggling." with Finnicks strong tone he stops his fidgeting. "i-i'm sorry" he tremble, his eyes flood with tears "i won't do it again!" his hands fly to his head; as if he needs protection.
