Cheer Tryouts
(Later that Day)After finishing my swim practice, I practically ran back to the girls' locker to get out of my bathing suit and have enough time to dry off. After throwing on my yellow and white raglan shirt, black sneakers, and dark blue sweatpants with the school's insignia, I quickly blow-dried my hair. I put my beanie on and shoved all my stuff back into my locker, quickly running out of the locker room to make it to cheer tryouts. Thankfully, I was only a couple minutes late. Not even Cheryl noticed. Probably because she was too busy destroying the confidence of the freshman girls. After watching the tenth girl run out of the gymnasium crying, it was Veronica's and Betty's turn. That was certainly an interesting duo.
Veronica & Betty: *cheering* We're blue! And gold! We're dynamite! We'll take you down, and fight the fight! Whoo! Go, Bulldogs!
Cheryl: *dressed in her cheerleading uniform, sitting in between Tina and Ginger* Hmm. Ladies, where's the heat? Where's the sizzle?
Veronica: Well, you haven't seen our big finish yet. *looks at Betty, whispering* Don't freak out. Just trust me. *suddenly grabs her face and smashes her lips against hers, kissing a very shocked Betty*
My jaw literally dropped at what I was watching. I hope Betty wasn't too uncomfortable. I'm uncomfortable just watching this.
Cheryl: *her arms crossed* Check your sell-by date, Ladies, faux lesbian kissing hasn't been taboo since 1994. So let's see if you do better with the interview portion of our audition. *looks towards Betty* Betty, how's your sister doing?
Oh no....this isn't going to be good.
Betty: Um, Polly's fine, thanks for asking.
Cheryl: *looks at Veronica* Veronica, has Betty told you about her sister yet?
Veronica: *a little confused* Uh, no.
Cheryl: *looks back at Betty* Go ahead, Betty. Tell Veronica about your sister and my dear brother. *looks back at Veronica* Polly and Jason dated.
Betty: *scoffs* I wouldn't say "dated".
Cheryl: It didn't end well. In fact, Jason's probably why your sister had a nervous breakdown and now lives in a group home, isn't it? That's what my parents think. What do you have to say about that, Betty? Go ahead, the floor is yours.
Jodie: *looking at her, stern* Cheryl, that's enough.
Cheryl: *ignores her* Whatever you've been dying to spew about Jason and how he treated Polly, unleash it. Destroy me. Tear me a new one. Rip me to shreds. Annihilate me.
