Mayor McCoy's Office (Later that Day)
After school ended, Jughead and I went over to Mayor McCoy's office, in hopes of convincing her to stop the destruction of the Twilight Drive-In. I wasn't too hopeful though. Things tend not to go my or my brother's way, so I had to be realistic.
Mayor McCoy: *standing behind her desk* I'm sorry, but the Twilight Drive-In? It's a blight that's become a cesspool, and a hangout for criminals, and transients, and the deal's done. Andrews Construction is scheduled to demolish the lot on Monday.
Jughead: *sitting in a chair, beside his sister* Mayor McCoy, when we were kids, my family and us would go to the Drive-In all the time. We couldn't afford tickets for everyone, so our sister Jellybean, Jodie, and I would hide in the trunk, until we parked. We'd sneak out. *chuckles softly*
Jodie: *sitting in a chair* It's like our home, Mayor.
Mayor McCoy: *sighs softly* That's a very sweet sentiment, Miss and Mr. Jones. But the future of Riverdale is at stake.
Jodie: *glaring a little* I told you she wouldn't do a damn thing, Jug. *grabs her laptop bag and stands up* I hope it does your heart good to know that because of you and this crappy deal, the homeless population just went up by two.
Mayor McCoy: *looking at her and Jughead* You two don't live with your father?
Jodie: You went to high school with him. Would you?
Mayor McCoy: *sighs softly, feeling a little guilty* I'm very sorry. There's nothing I can do now. If there's anything else I can do, please let me know.
Jughead: *standing up, grabbing his laptop bag* Don't worry about it. We'll figure it out. *turns around and leaves the office with his twin* Well, I guess the only other thing we can do is talk to Archie's dad.
Jodie: *walking beside him* You'll have to talk to him by yourself, Bro. I told Tam I'd be over at her place in half an hour.
Jughead: Alright. I'll text you and let you know how it goes. Although you'll probably won't see it, until tomorrow.
Jodie: *grins* Don't be jealous because I'm irresistible. *chuckles when he rolls his eyes*
