If it wasn't the smell of pancakes waking you up, then the sound of pots and pans clashing together definitely did. Your eyes fluttered open, trying to adjust to the light coming from the outside through the window. It took you a couple of seconds but you got there eventually. You looked to your left and saw that Aaron wasn't here anymore, you moved up a bit and leaned against the headboard, taking your phone off the nightstand. Why on Gods green earth was this man up at 9AM making pancakes?

You got out of his king sized bed and stumbled into the en-suite bathroom and decided that a shower was definitely gonna wake you up. You kind of loved the idea of not having to work anymore this week. You had no idea what you were gonna do though, so probably not much and just hang out with your cat at home. You quickly washed your face and contemplated checking up on you boss first before using his shower. That maybe was the more righteous thing to do. And maybe you were getting something out of it, since he promised and all that.

You slipped his quarter zip up that you used last night back on and fixed your hair a bit after using the spare toothbrush he gave you the night before. After you were kind of ready, or at least looked less like a gremlin, you headed out of the bedroom and through the hall into the kitchen. And what you saw there was not at all what you had expected. You saw Aaron at the stove, flipping pancakes in a pan and his son Jack sitting at the kitchen island, mostly looking at Aaron's miserable attempt to properly flip pancakes whilst at the same playing a game on his dad's iPhone. Your eyes widened at the sight, you didn't expect Jack to be here at all! Did Jack know you were here? Why was he back this early? Why didn't Hotch wake up you and tell you that his son was back??

As if he could read your mind, he turned around from the stove and saw you standing there, "ah Y/N, good morning." He smiled. His eyes suddenly grew confused and he pulled his brows together like he always did, probably studying your horrified expression.

"The parents of Jack's friend had a family emergency, they called me early this morning asking to pick him up." He explained, looking at his son and then back at you. "Jack, do you remember Y/N? It's been a while since you've seen her." He said as he walked over to him and ruffled up his hair with his hand. Jack smiled at you "hi" before focusing his attention again on his game. "Hey Jack, it's good to see you." You spoke before waving your hand at Aaron, gesturing to him that he needed to follow you. He quickly got the hint, turned the stove off and followed you into the hall and to the bedroom. He closed the door behind him.

"How did you sleep?" He asked softly

"Good" you said, "why didn't you tell me you had to pick up Jack? I could've went home." You told him, kind of shuffling in your place.

"You don't want to see him?" He asked, his face slowly dropping and the smile beginning to fade.

"No, no, no of course I want to see him. You know I think your kid is great. But isn't he gonna be confused if he sees me here, like at this time of day? Wearing you clothes?" You asked, pointing at yourself.

"Y/N, he's 7 years old. He doesn't care. And by the way, you look good in my sweats." He said, suddenly grinning at you. You couldn't help but flash a smile at his respons. "Okay, if you say so."

He then walked over to you and placed his hands on either side of your waist. You stood on the tip of your toes and placed a soft kiss on his pinkish lips. It wasn't necessarily a sexual kiss as you would've gone for a couple a minutes ago but it was a lengthy, sweet kiss. "Good morning" you smiled again. "You know, I was gonna come ask you for shower sex but I guess you're busy now." you said as you placed another kiss on his cheek.

"Oh my god" he groaned, letting his head fall back, "as much as I would definitely do that right now... I can't. I have to get back to Jack." You placed your hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat through his shirt. "I know."
